As he spoke, Jerome sighed and smiled at Andrew. “Andy, that man was actually pretty sharp. From his attitude, it was clear he was leaning toward you. Why not say a few kind words and build a connection?”

Andrew smiled. “Mr. Thornton, there’s no need. I understand what you’re thinking—more friends, more options, right? But right now, we don’t need to tread so carefully anymore. You’re worried about Guillermo, aren’t you?”

He let out a soft chuckle. “You’ll see soon enough. Guillermo is nothing in front of me.”

Jerome didn’t reply, but the words shook him.

In just two years, Andrew had changed dramatically.

The man was Philip—the head of the military.

His expression was icy as he walked up to Skylar’s body. After one brief glance, he said flatly, “Notify the Nieves family of Sylvan Peaks. The man is dead. As for a resolution, there is none. If they want to pursue this matter, they can come to me.”

Lorenzo immediately protested, furious. “General, what is the meaning of this? Skylar was my future son-in-law—my daughter’s fiancé. He’s been murdered, and you’re telling us to come find you?”
