Rising from the Ashes (Andrew and Lauren) Chapter 3199
Eric’s voice turned icy. “You only dared to act because you hide behind the Nieves family—and because you knew I wouldn’t kill you in Chetvine. That’s why you’ve been so arrogant. But now I’m telling you—you’re finished.”
Skylar rose slowly, a sinister sneer spreading across his face.
“You’re absolutely right,” he said mockingly. “My family does have powerful backing. The chainmail I’m wearing is bulletproof and blade-proof. So what exactly can you do to me?”
He gave Eric a look of open contempt. “And I’m aligned with Mr. Vazquez’s faction now. Trash like you can only stand there and watch.”
Eric’s expression didn’t change. He simply stepped aside.
Skylar scoffed. “So you brought backup? Eric, it doesn’t matter who you brought. Even if it’s Sheena from the Lloyd family, let’s see if she dares touch me at a time like this.”
But when he saw who walked in—
It wasn’t Sheena.
It was Andrew.
Skylar blinked, thrown off for a split second.
“And who the hell are you?” he demanded.
Andrew walked straight toward him, calm and unhurried. “Two years ago, Kelvin of the Nieves family from Sylvan Peaks came to Chetvine to hunt me. You might not know me—but he does. Why don’t you call him over?”
Skylar snorted. “And what makes you worthy of calling him here? Wait…” His expression shifted. “You said Uncle Kelvin hunted you two years ago?”
His face drained of color.
“You’re… Andrew? The Lloyd family’s Dragon Prince who returned yesterday?”
Andrew didn’t answer.
He slapped him.
Skylar roared, “Get away from me, you bastard! I wasn’t even targeting you—you came here looking to die!”
He swung his fist at Andrew.
Andrew’s palm met his strike.
Crack.
Skylar’s wrist snapped instantly. Bone pierced through flesh, blood spraying as fragments jutted into the air.
A shrill scream tore from his throat as he clutched his mangled hand, terror overtaking him.
“You bastard!” he howled. “You broke my hand—I’ll kill you!”
Still unable to grasp the situation, he grabbed the dagger at his waist with his uninjured hand and slashed at Andrew’s throat.
Andrew’s face remained indifferent.
He raised two fingers.
Clamped.
The blade stopped midair, caught effortlessly between them.
Andrew tilted his head slightly, watching Skylar’s face turn ashen as he desperately tried to pull the dagger back.
“You worthless trash,” Andrew said evenly. “How dare you act so arrogantly in front of me? Whether two years ago or now, crushing you would’ve taken no effort.”
His gaze hardened.
“One last time. Is Kelvin in Chetvine?”
Skylar spat through clenched teeth, “You think I’ll say a word? Go ahead—touch me again if you dare!”
Andrew withdrew his hand.
Then moved it forward once more.
In the next instant, Skylar’s eyes lost all light.
His body dropped backward, stiff and wide-eyed.
The dagger was embedded perfectly in the center of his forehead.
Moments earlier, Andrew had flicked it from his grasp with two fingers.
Now it stood buried in his skull.
In the span of a breath—
Skylar Nieves was dead.
