Rising from the Ashes (Andrew and Lauren) Chapter 3196

Andrew left the Medicine God’s Covenant and headed toward the Martial Tower.

The brief yet intoxicating interlude with Brielle left him feeling oddly unreal, as if his senses were still half lingering in that moment. There was no denying it—this woman possessed a unique allure of her own. The face hidden beneath her veil was stunning, but that was only part of it.

    Brielle was no ordinary woman.

She came from a prestigious sect, possessed formidable martial prowess, and had exceptional competence in every regard. Now that she managed the Medicine God’s Covenant, she had become a coveted prize—one countless powerful figures in Chetvine’s upper circles secretly coveted.

Yet she had always kept her distance from others and deeply disliked empty flattery. Because of that, there had never been any rumors about her involvement with anyone.

And yet, just moments ago, Andrew had nearly taken everything.

If others found out, they would probably be green with envy.

Strangely enough, Andrew himself felt quite calm.

Brielle was indeed an outstanding woman, but as she had said, their circumstances were not suitable. A moment of impulsive desire and buried admiration could not bridge everything between them. In the end, they still had to return to the relationship they had before.

The Martial Tower stood as majestic as ever, towering over the central plaza of Chetvine.

Countless martial artists from all over Holtrien came here as if on pilgrimage. Within these walls, one could learn various martial techniques free of charge.

Andrew’s arrival attracted no attention at all.

After asking around and confirming where Eric and Jerome were, he went straight to the twelfth floor.

Inside a training room, the two were sparring.

“Eric, you’re still too impulsive and restless,” Jerome said sternly. “How many times have I told you? When training, your mind must be calm.”

Eric had cut his hair short, and his once delicate features had taken on a far more masculine edge. Hearing this, he replied flatly, “Dad, I have anger in my heart. It’s hard to stay calm.”

He paused briefly before continuing, “And I don’t think calmness is always a good thing. A heart full of passion, blazing anger, and killing intent can make me erupt with power beyond my usual limits.”

Jerome snorted coldly, clearly displeased. “What you’re saying makes sense—but only to a certain extent. When facing an enemy, when your blood surges, you can rely on anger and passion to draw out more strength.”

“But right now, you’re sparring with me,” he continued sharply. “I’ve told you—only with a calm mind can you touch the mysterious realm of martial advancement.”

Eric clenched his fists. “Dad, let’s do it again. I still prefer this fierce, aggressive state.”

Jerome frowned, about to scold him again, when the training room door slowly opened.

A voice filled with amusement rang out, “Mr. Thornton, why not let him follow his own path?”

The voice continued calmly, “Many things can’t be taught through persuasion alone. Only when someone experiences them firsthand—when they feel them for themselves—can they truly learn to control them.”

“There are thousands of truths people already know,” the speaker went on, “yet many still fail to live by them. Why? Because they lack personal experience. Only progress forged through real combat—through surviving desperate situations—is true progress.”

    Jerome was slightly startled.

This person had entered without making a sound, which alone meant he was no ordinary expert. More impressive still was the depth of insight carried in his words—an understanding that even Jerome, after a lifetime in the martial world, could not claim to have fully mastered.

“Who’s there?” Eric shouted coldly, turning toward the doorway.

The moment he saw the figure standing there, he froze.

Jerome followed Eric’s gaze—and also stood rooted in place.

In the next instant, joy flooded his face. He stepped forward and clasped his fists in the highest martial salute.

    “Andy—you’ve finally returned!”
    “Greetings!”
