Rising from the Ashes (Andrew and Lauren) Chapter 3191

When Andrew woke, he did not disturb the other women, allowing them to rest. After going downstairs and finishing breakfast, he headed alone to the Medicine God’s Covenant.

This place was an empire he had built two years ago, just before leaving Chetvine. Back then, his intention had been clear—to challenge the Divine Alchemists and confront Sovereign’s Apothecary head-on. But after two years, his mindset had changed completely. Even if Sovereign’s Apothecary had truly suppressed the Medicine God’s Covenant, he would not have cared much.

At this point, he did not consider Sovereign’s Apothecary a threat at all. Even the Divine Alchemists behind them—along with their leader, Julius Bowen—meant nothing to him.

The reason he had come now was simple.

He cared about the people of the Medicine God’s Covenant. They were his friends.

As Andrew stepped onto the familiar old street, the sign of the Medicine God’s Covenant came into view. He paused, genuinely surprised. The place had expanded—dramatically so. It was far larger than it had been two years ago, and the foot traffic was immense.

Rows of luxury cars were parked out front, a clear sign that customers were coming and going without pause.

    Andrew walked inside quietly.

Soon, a beautiful young woman in a dress approached and greeted him politely. “Good morning, sir. Are you looking for an alchemist, or do you need any elixirs?”

Andrew smiled faintly. “Before I tell you what I need, may I ask you something? Which do you think is better—the Medicine God’s Covenant or Chetvine’s Sovereign’s Apothecary?”

The woman—Nancy Perez—answered smoothly, without hesitation. “These days, the Medicine God’s Covenant can stand its ground against any establishment in Chetvine. If you’re genuinely comparing them, that’s my honest answer. You’re welcome to ask around if you don’t believe me.”

Her gaze sharpened slightly. “But if you’re here to stir up trouble, the Medicine God’s Covenant isn’t afraid either.”

Seeing that even a receptionist carried such confidence and composure, Andrew felt even more assured of how well the Covenant had flourished in his absence. He cleared his throat lightly.

“My apologies. That was a bit rude of me,” he said. “I’m here to find someone—your director, Mr. Amari Goodman.”

Nancy replied earnestly, “Mr. Goodman isn’t here at the moment. If you need to see him, you can come back later. Also, I should correct you, sir. At the Medicine God’s Covenant, Mr. Goodman is only the deputy director.”

She smiled politely. “The actual director is someone else—the Dragon Prince of Chetvine, from the Lloyd royal family.”

    Andrew fell silent.

He hadn’t expected them to still keep him in the highest position.

Just then, a tall woman wearing a veil descended from the second floor. From her slender, graceful figure and the eyes visible above the veil alone, one could easily imagine how stunning her face must be beneath it.

“Nancy,” the veiled woman said calmly, “did you prepare the gifts I asked for yesterday? I need to visit a general at the military headquarters.”

She walked straight toward the exit as she spoke, not noticing Andrew at first. The first-floor lobby was crowded with customers buying elixirs, and her steps were swift and decisive.

Nancy responded quickly, “Madam Baxter, I prepared them yesterday. I’ll go get them right away!”

She turned back to Andrew with a polite smile. “Sir, please wait just a moment. I’ll be right back.”

    Andrew did not respond.

Or rather, his attention was now completely fixed on the veiled woman.

“Madam Baxter,” he said softly, his tone warm with familiarity. “Long time no see. You’re still as youthful and beautiful as ever.”

The sound of his voice made Brielle’s body tremble violently.

She turned her head in disbelief.

When she saw Andrew’s smiling face, tears instantly welled in her eyes. Her delicate hands clasped together as her voice quivered.

    “Andrew… you’re back?”

The words came out with a sob born of overwhelming joy.

Without hesitation, she grabbed his hand and pulled him toward a VIP room on the first floor. After only a few quick steps, she pushed open the door and ushered him inside, closing them into the quiet break room.
