Rising from the Ashes (Andrew and Lauren) Chapter 3185
Luna hesitated for a moment.
Then, under Valerie’s encouraging gaze, she timidly stepped forward and lightly stamped on Jose’s face before hurriedly scurrying away, cheeks flushed.
Just like that, four sets of footprints were pressed into Jose’s face.
Though some overlapped, it was still painfully obvious—his face had been stepped on multiple times.
“Huh? Isn’t that Mr. Vazquez’s man—Jose Castillo?”
Someone finally recognized him.
A few people rushed over, lifted him up, and shook him awake.
Jose jolted back to consciousness and immediately gasped in pain. His jaw had been dislocated; even opening his mouth sent sharp agony through his skull.
He shoved the people away roughly and staggered into the airport restroom.
The moment he looked into the mirror, his vision went dark.
One side of his face was grotesquely swollen and red—and stamped across it were several unmistakable footprints.
A dignified Martial God.
Guillermo Vazquez’s right-hand man.
A so-called top-tier expert.
Knocked unconscious by a single slap.
And then trampled on.
More than once.
“This is too much!” Jose roared hoarsely.
In his fury, he slammed his palm down. The sink countertop shattered with a loud crack, fragments scattering across the floor.
In the mirror, his reflection looked savage and unhinged.
After venting for a long while, his expression twisted repeatedly before finally settling into something darker.
He left the airport.
Not long after, Jose returned to Guillermo’s side.
“W-What happened?” Guillermo stared at his face in shock. “Did someone slap you?”
Lorenzo’s eyes widened as well.
Jose lowered his head, his expression grim. “Mr. Vazquez… I messed up.”
He clenched his fists. “That kid took my palm strike head-on and was completely fine. Then he slapped me once—and this happened.”
He hesitated before adding, “I suspect that little bastard learned some kind of witchcraft in the Outlands.”
“Witchcraft?” Guillermo exploded.
“I warned you not to be careless! Not to underestimate him! And you treated my words like garbage!”
His voice rose. “So what you’re telling me is—you got slapped straight into the ground?”
Jose nodded in shame. “Yes… but I wasn’t paying attention at the time. If I had been, he definitely couldn’t have—”
“You weren’t paying attention to anything, you idiot!” Guillermo roared.
“Do you have any idea how much effort I put into forcefully pushing you into the Martial God realm? And even then, you still haven’t fixed your sloppy habits!”
He sneered viciously. “Even Alfredo failed. Who do you think you are? Better than Alfredo?”
Jose’s face flushed with humiliation and rage.
He snorted coldly. “As I said, I was careless. Next time, I’ll make Andrew pay with my own hands.”
“Get lost!” Guillermo snapped, waving him off.
“You’re useless—more trouble than you’re worth. Count yourself lucky he didn’t kill you while you were unconscious.”
He paused, then added coldly, “But this beating wasn’t pointless. At least now I know something.”
Lorenzo’s expression darkened. “Mr. Vazquez… does this mean Andrew has already reached the Martial God realm?”
Guillermo’s face twisted into an ugly sneer.
“I used extraordinary methods to force Jose into becoming a Martial God. Andrew must have found something similar.”
His eyes gleamed coldly. “He’s lucky—but luck alone isn’t enough to fight me.”
He leaned back slowly.
“If he dares swagger into Holtrien and speak to me like that, then he definitely has a trump card. Something capable of threatening me.”
A cruel smile spread across his face.
“But just because he has one… doesn’t mean I don’t.”
“That little punk…” Guillermo said darkly. “If I crushed him once, I can crush him again.”
