Rising from the Ashes (Andrew and Lauren) Chapter 3184
Andrew said calmly, “No need. Don’t dirty your hands.”
He looked at Jose with indifference. “Move aside. I’m in a decent mood today. I won’t bother with you.”
Jose burst out laughing and strode forward two steps, talking as if to himself.
“Damn. You disappeared into the Outlands for two years, bummed around like a stray dog, and this is what you come back with? Your strength barely improved—but your mouth sure did.”
His laughter faded. His face turned cold.
“Deal with me?” Jose sneered. “Open your eyes and feel it. This is the level I’ve reached now.”
His aura surged outward.
Nyx rolled her eyes, not even dignifying him with a glance.
Andrew, however, was already losing patience. “Get lost,” he said flatly. “Or I’ll cripple you right here.”
Jose’s expression darkened.
“Andrew, honestly,” he said slowly, “even though I work for Mr. Vazquez, I actually admire your guts. That’s why I haven’t acted yet.”
He raised a finger. “So take this as a friendly warning. Go back to wherever you crawled out from.”
His voice dropped. “Do you think a Martial God would waste words on you otherwise? There are many experts in Holtrien—but Martial Gods are rare.”
“You should think carefully.”
Andrew’s eyes were ice-cold. “I could make you kneel with one hand. One move.”
He tilted his head slightly. “So think about it—do you really want to test me?”
Jose snorted. “You’re full of nonsense. If your father stood here and said that, I might believe it.”
He raised his palm. “But you? Come back after fifty more years of training.”
He struck.
There was no flashy display—only absolute compression. All of his internal energy surged into that single palm strike, aimed directly at Andrew’s chest.
Jose was certain.
Block it, and you’d be crushed.
Dodge it, and you’d still be overwhelmed.
The only outcome was surrender.
Andrew’s response was even simpler.
He raised his hand—and slapped.
He didn’t even bother defending.
Jose felt a surge of rage. To ignore his strike like that—it was suicide. He sneered and let the slap come.
To him, it would feel like nothing.
Both attacks landed almost simultaneously.
Jose’s palm struck Andrew’s chest.
Nothing happened.
Andrew didn’t even sway.
Then the slap landed.
A deafening crack echoed through the air.
Jose felt as if his head had been smashed by an out-of-control heavy truck. His vision exploded. His brain rattled violently, consciousness tearing apart.
The world spun.
He staggered two steps forward—then collapsed face-first onto the ground.
His face twisted in agony. His skull felt like it was about to split open.
How… is this possible…?
That was his last thought before darkness swallowed him.
Andrew looked down at the unconscious body.
A trace of killing intent flickered in his eyes.
If he wanted to, he could end it with a single step.
Jose was nothing more than a freshly promoted Martial God—bold enough to show off, ignorant enough not to know who stood before him. In Andrew’s eyes, Jose didn’t even measure up to Petra or Juno.
He had power, but no real battle tempering.
Strength without refinement.
A hollow shell among Martial Gods.
Bullying Martial Emperors? Fine.
Posturing in Holtrien? Acceptable.
But before Andrew—the uncrowned king of the Outlands—he was a joke.
“Let’s go,” Andrew said calmly.
He turned and walked past.
As he did, he stepped on Jose’s face.
Nyx followed, smiling playfully, and stepped on his face as well.
Then Valerie, fearless and mischievous, added her own stomp before catching up.
Jose remained unconscious—his pride crushed long before his bones ever were.
