Rising from the Ashes (Andrew and Lauren) Chapter 3180
Andrew snorted, disdain written plainly across his face. “So in the end, you are afraid of death,” he said coldly. “Or maybe it’s the thought of never wielding a sword again—of watching Swordhaven Keep become a laughingstock for all eternity. That kind of blow is something you simply can’t endure.”
He added flatly, “For a swordsman, your backbone is disappointingly weak.”
Alfredo let out a bitter laugh. “I have nothing to say about my defeat. In this lifetime, I’m no match for you—or Reginald. Living on holds little meaning for me now.” His expression tightened. “But Andrew, you can’t destroy Swordhaven Keep.”
“Holtrien’s sword path relies on Swordhaven Keep to carry its legacy. If you wipe us out, one of Holtrien’s ancient eight sects will vanish forever.”
Andrew raised an eyebrow. “Swordhaven Keep is one of the ancient eight sects?”
Enduring the pain, Alfredo nodded. “That’s right. The torch of the sword path has always been passed down by Swordhaven Keep—by the Topsfield family. We are the rightful heirs of the ancient Sword Sect.”
Andrew gave a low, acknowledging hum and nodded. “I see.” Then his tone turned indifferent. “In that case—consider these your last words.”
“I don’t care about the legacy of the ancient eight sects,” he continued calmly. “That’s that, Mr. Topsfield Senior. I’m sending you to meet your maker.”
Alfredo’s eyes widened in pure terror. “No!”
Andrew’s greatsword slammed into the ground beside Alfredo’s head. A deafening crack split the stone floor, fissures spreading outward. Had it landed even an inch closer, Alfredo would have died on the spot.
“I’ll be waiting for you in Chetvine, on the Lloyd royal family’s grounds,” Andrew said evenly as he lifted Godslayer. “A new war between the Eastern and Western continents is about to erupt. Old grudges are about to resurface.”
“Swordhaven Keep,” he continued coldly, “is hereby ordered to join the war. Of course, you may choose not to.”
“If that happens,” Andrew said without emotion, “I’ll personally return to the Eastern Regions and wipe out the Topsfield family.”
With those words, Andrew turned and left with his people.
Outside the gates, the disciples of Swordhaven Keep trembled in fear and hurriedly made way. Not a single person dared utter a sound. Only after Andrew and his group had completely departed did Alfredo’s body begin to shake as he struggled to rise from the ground.
The loss of his arm sent fresh waves of agony tearing through him, twisting his face. His disciples rushed forward in a panic.
“Father!”
“Mr. Topsfield Senior, are you alright?”
“We can’t swallow this humiliation! Swordhaven Keep won’t stand for—”
“Shut your mouths!” Alfredo snapped weakly. “If anyone dares speak a single word about what happened today, I’ll slaughter their entire family!”
The disciples froze, staring at one another in shock. Were they truly expected to let this go? The humiliation was unbearable.
Slumping back into his seat, Alfredo gasped for breath. After a long while, he let out a hoarse, miserable laugh.
“The twin titans of the Lloyd family…” he muttered. “What monsters they’ve produced.”
His bloodshot eyes brimmed with venom as he cursed, “Reginald—I couldn’t defeat you. And now Andrew has crushed me completely. Heavens above, why are you so cruel? Why?”
After venting his anguish, exhaustion finally overtook him. As his disciples worked frantically to stop the bleeding, Alfredo contacted Guillermo, who was in Chetvine.
“Mr. Topsfield Senior,” Guillermo laughed from the other end, “have you finally come to your senses and decided to join us?”
Alfredo’s face was deathly pale as he gritted his teeth. “My retribution has already come,” he said hoarsely. “Yours is next. Andrew has returned to Holtrien with unstoppable killing intent.”
“I won’t take part in any of your schemes anymore. Whatever you plan is none of my business. From this moment on, I’m done playing along.”
Guillermo asked urgently, “Are you injured? Just how strong has that little bastard become now?”
Alfredo ended the call without a word.
His arm was ruined. The bleeding had only been barely stopped, and he still needed immediate treatment. He had no time—or patience—for Guillermo’s questions.
