Rising from the Ashes (Andrew and Lauren) Chapter 3179
Andrew looked down at him without a trace of emotion.
“Mr. Topsfield Senior, you still remember the Godslayer, don’t you?” he said calmly. “You’d better not move. This bloodthirsty weapon is eager to taste blood. If I slip and it cuts your throat… the Sword Saint will die just like that.”
Pinned to the ground, Alfredo didn’t dare move. He could only crane his neck and roar in humiliation.
“H–How are you this strong now?”
Andrew sneered. “If I weren’t strong enough, do you think I’d come looking for your life?” His gaze turned cold. “I still remember how spirited and arrogant you were back then. When Sheena and I came to the Eastern Regions—to your territory—you put on quite a performance.”
Alfredo clenched his teeth. “Andrew, why dig up the past just to humiliate me? If you’re going to kill me, then do it. Do you really think I’m afraid of you?”
Andrew lifted his greatsword and drew a half-circle through the air.
A scream of agony tore from Alfredo’s throat. Veins bulged grotesquely across his face as it twisted in pain. Half his arm had already been severed by Andrew’s blade.
Outside the great hall, Alfredo’s son and disciples, who had been awaiting orders, all turned deathly pale. The light drained from their eyes as if they had become walking corpses. In their minds, Alfredo had always been a god—yet now he was trampled beneath another’s foot, an arm casually cut off. The shock was overwhelming.
Inside the hall, Franz let out a low sigh as he watched. Conrad and Kyrie stared in disbelief. Andrew was simply too brutal. This man—Holtrien’s pillar of strength, the Sword Saint, Alfredo Topsfield—was being crushed without mercy.
Arrogant. Domineering. Peerless. Invincible with his divine sword. Guardian of the Eastern Regions.
Those titles had once defined his legend. Now, he lay in agony, utterly pathetic—cast from the peak straight into the dirt in the blink of an eye.
Kyrie’s emotions were even more tangled. If even Alfredo couldn’t withstand Andrew, what hope did the Harding family have? There was only one ending left—death.
Nyx smirked faintly. “So this is the so-called number one sword genius of the Eastern Regions of Holtrien,” she said lazily. “At least, I can’t guarantee I could defeat him myself. Then again…” Her gaze softened as it flicked toward Andrew. “My dear husband can. To him, this is nothing more than a trivial matter.”
Enduring the pain, Alfredo clenched his jaw, eyes bloodshot. “Andrew, I admit it—you’re no longer the insignificant fish you once were. But you will not humiliate me. At worst, it’s just death!”
Andrew chuckled softly. “Mr. Topsfield Senior, you’re truly stubborn. You think I’m humiliating you?”
“Aren’t you?!” Alfredo roared. “I’ve always stood tall and proud! When have I ever been treated like this? Andrew, sparing your life back then is the greatest regret of my existence!”
Andrew’s eyes narrowed slightly. “Times change. The world changes. You were simply too overconfident.” His voice turned indifferent. “In my eyes, you were never that impressive. And now, you’re even less so.”
He paused, then continued coldly, “I know you’re not afraid of death. But crippling both your hands so you can never wield a sword again… watching Swordhaven Keep be eaten away piece by piece until you beg for death—”
“That kind of torment,” Andrew said quietly, “even you wouldn’t be able to endure.”
Alfredo’s expression finally broke. He shrieked, panic flooding his voice.
“Andrew—don’t go too far! I am the guardian of Holtrien’s Eastern Regions! The Azure Gate has been protected by the Topsfield family for generations! If you disgrace me and destroy Swordhaven Keep, there will be no one left capable of defending it!”
