Rising from the Ashes (Andrew and Lauren) Chapter 3169
Andrew ordered another full spread of food to be served. They had been traveling nonstop, and as martial artists, their appetites were anything but modest.
Conrad looked a little embarrassed, but Andrew raised a hand, signaling him not to overthink it. Conrad lowered his head again and resumed eating as if his life depended on it.
“The global situation is about to change,” Andrew said. “And honestly, we’re heading back home at just the right time.”
Luna nodded. “Exactly. We noticed it too. Lately, people from the four Western nations have been far more active in the Outlands.”
She continued, “What’s worse, they’re openly clashing with those of us from Holtrien. None of this is a good sign. The main reason we evacuated was because our secret military base had already come under attack.”
Andrew chose not to mention the Vampire Queen’s awakening. That threat still felt too distant from their immediate reality. The forces of the West alone were already dangerous enough.
Holtrien had its visible military and government, but behind the scenes existed ancient sects and old powers that had endured since antiquity.
In modern times, there was also the renowned and immensely influential Divine Dragon Order—the mysterious organization Andrew himself had joined.
All of these forces existed to protect the nation and its people, standing against the hidden and powerful forces of the West and beyond—entities unknown to ordinary people.
The Western nations and their alliances had always eyed Holtrien with greed, fueling endless friction and conflict.
In the shadows, the Dark Trinity had long acted as a supernatural force, clashing constantly with Holtrien’s ancient sects and martial elites.
When the Vampire Queen awakened, her words to Andrew had pointed directly at Holtrien’s ancient powers. Andrew still didn’t fully understand what that meant. He could only plan to investigate further once he returned home.
The wars of the Wastelands were ultimately confined to the Outlands.
What truly inspired fear was the ancient feud between the Eastern and Western continents—and the hidden figures battling behind the scenes.
Christopher was one of Holtrien’s deeply concealed heavyweights. But strictly speaking, he wasn’t invincible.
Holtrien was the number one Eastern power—ancient, mysterious, and filled with countless hidden forces and legendary figures throughout history.
In the past, Andrew had neither the chance nor the desire to learn about such things.
Now, everything was different.
Once he returned home, both his status and his strength meant he was destined to become a pillar of Holtrien, standing at its very highest level.
That also meant he would gain access to classified intelligence and buried histories long hidden from the world.
“Since you’ve already made it to Throne City,” Andrew said with a smile, “there’s no need to rush. You can all rest here for a day before we head back to Holtrien.”
Valerie and Luna immediately agreed, their smiles bright.
They were eager to reconnect with Andrew. Absence truly did make the heart grow fonder, and they had missed him deeply.
Conrad was pleased as well. Throne City was the greatest city in the Wastelands, and he had long wanted to see it.
Now that Andrew ruled it, he could explore freely and without concern.
Kyrie’s position, however, was awkward.
Andrew wasn’t petty or narrow-minded. He didn’t consider Kyrie a close friend, but since Kyrie served in Holtrien’s military, Andrew saw no issue with hosting him.
That courtesy, however, did not extend to the Harding family behind him.
Andrew believed in drawing clear lines—and he never forgot a grudge.
As evening fell, Andrew hosted another grand banquet for Luna, Valerie, and their group.
He introduced them to the members of the Dragonfang Order, as well as elders like Othniel.
When Luna and Valerie learned that Petra, Othniel, Knox, and Juno were all martial gods, their mouths fell open in shock.
Even Conrad was left speechless, his emotions too tangled to express.
Kyrie, meanwhile, kept gulping down wine, trying desperately to calm the shock pounding in his chest.
Andrew didn’t even need to lift a finger anymore. The people standing beside him could easily crush Kyrie—and wipe out the Harding family back in Holtrien without effort.
Nyx, meanwhile, was feeling slightly unhappy.
She took the initiative to chat with Luna and Valerie.
When the two women learned that Nyx was a martial god–level assassin, any thought of banding together to challenge her vanished instantly.
As fellow women, Nyx’s strength inspired both admiration and a cautious respect.
Luna, in particular, though unwilling to share Andrew, couldn’t help but admire Nyx’s excellence and talent.
At some point, Kyrie drank himself into a stupor without even realizing it and had to be carried off to rest.
He had been completely stunned to learn that Nyx—the doll-like beauty—was a martial god.
That meant Andrew now had five martial gods at his side.
Compared to that overwhelming force, the Harding family was nothing.
Feeling crushed and terrified, Kyrie drank until he lost consciousness, deciding it was better to pass out early than remain at the table trembling.
When it was finally time to retire for the night, Andrew himself hadn’t given it much thought.
But Nyx, Luna, and Valerie exchanged glances—sparks flying silently between them.
Valerie looped her arm around Andrew’s with a sweet smile. “Honey, Luna and I have missed you so much. Won’t you spend the night with us?”
Luna flashed a captivating smile. “Yes, honey. It’s been so long. Don’t you miss us?”
Under normal circumstances, she would never say something so forward—but with Nyx as a rival, Luna decided to go all in.
Andrew laughed. “Alright. Let’s all go together.”
Nyx crossed her arms and said coolly, “Hold on. Our bed is only big enough for the two of us. Honey, where do you think you’re going? Shouldn’t you be coming back with me?”
Andrew froze. “Uh…”
A headache struck him instantly as he realized just how serious this problem was.
What was he supposed to do now?
