Rising from the Ashes (Andrew and Lauren) Chapter 3163

Nyx pursed her lips. “No way. I already have a man.”

Knox replied smugly, “I knew you wouldn’t be interested, but that’s fine. The Highland Tribe doesn’t forbid polygamy—especially for higher-ranking figures like elders and generals. Three wives is pretty normal. As for me, I’ll marry Mr. Fernsby’s daughter as my main wife.”

Then he added cheerfully, “In a couple of years, I’ll marry a few pretty women from the Wastelands to keep my bed warm. Better yet, I’ll head to Holtrien with Andrew, find a couple of beauties there, and bring them back too. Sounds perfect.”

    Nyx snorted, her disdain obvious.

Andrew, however, asked, “The Highland Tribe really allows multiple wives?”

“Of course,” Knox replied. “Mr. Fernsby himself has three.”

Andrew thought for a moment, then suddenly grabbed Knox’s hand and said solemnly, “Knox, I need a favor. Ask Chief Wieser if I can join the Highland Tribe.”

Knox blinked, confused. “What are you planning? Don’t tell me you want multiple wives too?”

Andrew answered with a straight face. “That’s not the point. What matters is that I admire the men of the Highland Tribe. They’re responsible, considerate, full of justice, and capable of helping more good women find a happy home.”

    Knox froze—then burst out laughing.

Nyx’s face flushed red as she glared fiercely at Andrew.

Andrew put on an innocent expression. “Come on, Nyx. It was just a joke. Are you really taking it seriously?”

Nyx sneered. “That joke wasn’t funny at all.”

Knox said earnestly, “You should be grateful. A beauty like Nyx is one in a million. Honestly, if I had to choose, I’d rather have one Nyx than any other woman. One of her is worth ten thousand others.”

Andrew chuckled. “What if I told you I have plenty like her?”

Knox was stunned. “Seriously? Are you really that lucky?”

Andrew smirked and walked away. A little bragging was fine, but if he pushed it too far and Knox figured out the truth, the man would probably lose sleep from envy.

The next day, Andrew and Nyx headed once again for the Deadlands.

This land of death seemed eternally unchanged. The radiation clouds overhead were ever-present—dark, heavy, and suffocating everything beneath them. At the far end of the plain, within the massive rift, the deep blue glow remained constant, dreamlike and unreal.

They stood at the edge of the abyss as the shifting light below reflected across their faces, sometimes bright, sometimes shadowed.

Nyx spoke softly. “Let’s go back. I wonder what Mr. Lloyd Senior is going through inside the Veiled Paradise right now.”

Andrew had searched every location thoroughly. He had found no trace of the entrance to the Veiled Paradise, as if it had never existed at all. Perhaps reopening it would require gathering powerhouses from every faction and forcing it open through sheer strength. Right now, no one around him possessed that kind of power.

“Don’t worry, Nyx,” Andrew said. “Trust him. He’ll be fine. Once we return to Holtrien, I’ll grow stronger and settle old scores. Then we’ll come back, reopen the entrance, and investigate properly.”

Nyx nodded. “That’s all we can do. Let’s head back.”

They turned and began walking upward. The surroundings were eerily silent, while the eternal abyss behind them continued to emit its ghostly glow.

Suddenly, the light within the abyss flickered.

Andrew sensed something and spun around instantly. Nyx turned as well.

A figure clad entirely in black battle armor, bathed in radiance, was slowly rising from the depths.

    Nyx gasped. “It’s Arya!”

Andrew was equally stunned. The Arya before them was completely different from the one he remembered. The contrast was like night and day.

But what truly alarmed them came next.

A towering pillar of blood-red light surged upward from the abyss behind Arya. Vast and overwhelming, it shot straight into the sky, forcing even the radiation clouds above to part.

Within that crimson light, a tall woman in a flowing red gown, crowned and regal, slowly floated upward.

When her blood-red eyes casually opened and swept toward Andrew and Nyx, Andrew’s heart lurched violently. A crushing sense of dread surged through him.

This woman was impossible to defeat.

    Who… is she?
