Rising from the Ashes (Andrew and Lauren) Chapter 3161

Andrew was stunned to learn that Arya was missing. At first, he assumed Kass was lying, deliberately trying to unsettle him. But as the convoy drove away and the remaining Cathedral soldiers regrouped and slowly withdrew, Andrew realized Kass was probably telling the truth.

First, Kass had no reason to lie. Second, Arya was critically important to the Cathedral. Since the Pope’s order had already been issued, she should have returned immediately. Yet she was nowhere to be found. That could only mean one thing—she had truly disappeared.

Andrew wondered where that crazy woman could have gone. Someone as powerful as Arya couldn’t simply vanish without a trace. He considered every possibility but came up empty. His final guess was that she might have gone after Dark Sacred Mountain or the Blood Sanctum. But even that seemed unlikely. Arya would know how dangerous those places were. Going alone would be nothing short of suicide.

After returning to Throne City, Andrew told Nyx what had happened with the Cathedral. When she heard that Arya was missing, her expression turned grave.

“Nyx, where do you think Arya would go?” Andrew asked.

Nyx shook her head. “I don’t know either. The Wastelands is vast. If Kass says she’s missing, that means the Cathedral hasn’t heard from her either. Arya is very straightforward. She probably couldn’t accept the deaths of those two angels and found somewhere to hide and grieve. Or…” She paused. “She may have gone off alone to seek revenge.”

Andrew sneered. “That crazy woman may be strong, but going after the Dark Progenitors by herself is suicidal.”

Nyx said seriously, “Andrew, you don’t really understand Arya. Once she decides on revenge, no matter how dangerous the road ahead is, she’ll keep moving forward until she reaches her goal.”

Andrew thought about it and had to admit she was right. Arya really was that kind of person. And it was precisely her recklessness that had exposed the Cathedral’s weaknesses and ultimately triggered the Dark Clans’ massive assault.

“I want to go out and look around,” Nyx said.

Andrew knew she intended to search for Arya. He didn’t stop her. “Be careful.”

Nyx smiled. “Don’t worry. The Wastelands is mostly stable now. Your reputation as the great overlord has spread far and wide.”

Andrew’s name was indeed sweeping across the Wastelands like a storm. He had destroyed the Ludendorff family, seized Throne City, and risen as the new overlord. He had subdued the Highland Tribe, swept through the Outlands, and even the Cathedral had been forced to retreat. These feats made him the most talked-about figure in the Wastelands.

    The war was finally over.

As for governing Throne City and cleaning up the aftermath, Andrew left it to Franz and the others.

Originally, Andrew had expected that once the Cathedral withdrew, the Dark Clans would immediately turn their greedy eyes toward Throne City. But after several days of observation, both the werewolves and vampires retreated back into the Dark Regions.

In other words, after this clash, both the Cathedral and the Dark Clans had been severely weakened. Andrew had truly become the third-party winner—the one who took it all.

It was an outcome even Andrew himself had never dared imagine. At first, he had assumed that even if he captured Throne City, a brutal follow-up battle would be inevitable. Yet reality had unfolded far better than he expected.

Now, it was time for his next move—returning to Holtrien.

With overwhelming strength and an unstoppable reputation, he would force Guillermo, Julien, and everyone else in both the political and martial worlds to bow their heads. Old scores were waiting to be settled.

Standing alone at the highest point of Throne Hall, Andrew gazed toward the distant east. That was his homeland. It was time to go back.

Still, he wasn’t in a hurry. With the pressure of war finally gone, Andrew took advantage of the calm to continue strengthening himself.

And deep down, he could feel it—he was on the verge of another breakthrough.
