Rising from the Ashes (Andrew and Lauren) Chapter 3120
With that, Andrew led five thousand elite Highland Tribe warriors into Abyss City in commanding fashion. Their rigid discipline and overwhelming battle aura sent an unspoken chill through the city’s garrison.
Franz, who had been holding the line in Abyss City, was overflowing with excitement as he hurried over to greet them. “Andrew, Nyx—you’re back!”
Andrew smiled. “Mr. Hearst, thank you for everything you’ve done over the past two days.”
Franz waved his hands dismissively. “Don’t mention it. It’s nothing compared to what you’ve accomplished.”
His gaze swept over the Highland warriors one by one, the satisfaction in his eyes deepening with each glance.
Andrew continued, “Mr. Hearst, allow me to introduce someone. This is Mr. Othniel Fernsby.”
Franz straightened immediately and stepped forward. “Mr. Fernsby, it’s a pleasure to meet you. The Highland Tribe warriors truly live up to their reputation.”
Othniel smiled faintly. “You flatter us. The one who truly lives up to his reputation is Mr. Lloyd.”
Andrew said, “Mr. Fernsby, Mr. Hearst will arrange lodging and meals for the five thousand warriors. After such a major battle, they need time to rest and recover. As for Chief Wieser, I’ve already arranged for escorts to bring the remaining members of the Highland Tribe safely into Abyss City.”
Othniel bowed sincerely. “Thank you, Mr. Lloyd.”
After the others departed, Nyx spoke quietly. “Honey, the Highland Tribe is large. Beyond the warriors, there are tens of thousands of civilians. If they all flood into Abyss City at once, the city will feel cramped, and supplies may run short.”
Andrew nodded. “I know. That’s why it’s time to take Throne City.”
“Once we capture it and establish it as our base,” he continued, “we can dominate the entire Wastelands, intimidate every faction, and solve all of these problems at once.”
Nyx gave a bitter smile. “But Throne City is still controlled by the Ludendorff family.”
“For now,” Andrew replied coldly. “But not for long. In terms of defenses, supplies, and strategic value, Throne City is the best location in the entire Wastelands.”
“I know it’s the best choice,” Nyx said, “but have you considered this? We aren’t the only ones who want it. The Cathedral, the Coven of Heavenly Radiance in Aurora City, and even the werewolves and vampires are all watching Throne City.”
Andrew answered calmly, “Of course I know. All these battles, all these deaths, have been for one purpose—destroying the Ludendorff family and seizing Throne City to unify the Wastelands.”
“In the end, it comes down to strength. Whoever takes Throne City earns it.”
He motioned for Petra to come closer. “Petra, what’s the situation in Aurora City?”
Petra replied, “Prince Vance of the Coven of Heavenly Radiance has been under heavy pressure lately. Ramon has been launching relentless assaults. Both sides are fighting to the death along the city walls, taking severe losses.”
Andrew looked surprised. “Garal and Prescott died in Abyss City. Even so, Ramon still refuses to abandon Aurora City and retreat to the Ludendorff stronghold?”
Petra shook his head. “He hasn’t. I found it strange at first as well. But now it seems Ramon has realized the Ludendorff family is collapsing. He’s going all in on Aurora City, trying to carve out his own power base to preserve himself.”
Andrew sneered. “Even if he takes Aurora City, it won’t end well for him. His only real chance to survive now is to run as far as possible.”
Petra asked, “Then should we cooperate with the Coven of Heavenly Radiance and eliminate Ramon before he escapes? That would allow us to completely wipe out the Ludendorff bloodline.”
Andrew shook his head. “No need. Ramon stands alone now. Whether he still carries Ludendorff blood is irrelevant.”
“On the contrary,” he continued calmly, “Prince Vance has considerable ambition and an even greater appetite. Let Ramon keep wearing him down.”
“In the best case,” Andrew concluded, “they’ll both suffer devastating losses—and destroy each other.”
