Rising from the Ashes (Andrew and Lauren) Chapter 3118

Arya spoke in a low, resolute voice. “Lysander, go back and inform the Archbishop. This is the moment to launch the army.”

Lysander cried out in shock. “Arya—what about you?”

Arya turned her gaze toward a distant hilltop, where Andrew stood alone. At the same instant she looked over, Andrew raised his head as well. Their eyes met across the battlefield, and hostility flared between them.

“I’m going to do what must be done,” Arya said coldly. “To purge evil.”

Her white holy sword erupted with light as she snorted disdainfully and charged straight at Andrew.

    Lysander froze.

As he watched Arya rush forward, he finally saw Andrew clearly. Shock and confusion surged through him. Could it be that the Highland Tribe warriors had been brought here by Andrew?

    Arya’s attack instantly enraged him.

“Get out of my way!” Andrew shouted. “I don’t have time to waste on you!”

Arya’s expression did not change. “Andrew, light and darkness cannot coexist. Your body contains energy from every side—vampires, werewolves, and even our holy power.”

“I don’t know what kind of existence you are,” she continued coldly, “but I absolutely cannot allow a menace like you to remain in this world.”

Andrew laughed darkly, his voice sharp with mockery. “Archangel, what you really mean is that you’re afraid I’ll keep growing stronger and threaten the Cathedral, right? Everyone knows holy light can only be wielded by faithful believers. But for me, it’s effortless.”

“This is something even your Pope can’t comprehend—much less you. But you were taught one thing by him: anything you don’t understand, anything unfamiliar, must be eliminated.”

“For the Lomuia Grand Cathedral, no threat is allowed to exist—even if that threat isn’t truly evil. You don’t care about that, do you?”

Arya answered stubbornly, “Andrew, no matter what you say, I will not waver in my beliefs. The feeling you give me is unbearable—utterly repulsive. I am the Cathedral’s Battle Angel, born with the ability to sense evil.”

“You are the greatest evil of all. That cannot be wrong.”

Andrew replied coldly, “I know you won’t give up, so come then. But if I accidentally kill you, the Lomuia Grand Cathedral will be thrown into chaos.”

Arya clenched her teeth. “If you truly can kill me, then that is my fate, and I will blame no one. But I will always believe that darkness can never defeat the light.”

Just as the two were about to plunge into another deadly clash, the battlefield shifted.

From the vampire encampment, a surge of blood-red energy shot into the sky.

Gaston rode atop an endless tide of crimson mist as he charged toward the werewolf battlefield. Behind him followed more than a dozen figures, each wrapped in powerful red auras—vampire Dukes.

At that level, even beneath the blazing daylight, they felt no fear.

Arya hesitated, conflict flashing across her face. In the end, she abandoned Andrew and turned toward Gaston instead. The Cathedral’s army had already begun its advance. For the Cathedral’s sake, she had to stop Gaston first.

Otherwise, with a single strike, he could slaughter more than a dozen soldiers.

Andrew remained standing proudly on the mountain ridge, lifting his head as he watched Arya fly across the sky.

The golden armor covering her body was breathtaking. Beneath it, the faint outline of her flawless legs was visible. Bathed in white holy light, Arya looked like a true angel descending upon the mortal world—both sacred and overwhelmingly authoritative, every movement flawless and absolute.
