Rising from the Ashes (Andrew and Lauren) Chapter 3114
Meanwhile, west of Abyss City, the battlefield had fallen into a tense stalemate.
After three brutal clashes, the Cathedral’s Vindicator legions and Kaelan’s werewolf army faced each other in a deadlock. Overall, however, the Dark Clans were already showing clear signs of collapse. This was not because the Cathedral forces were overwhelmingly superior, but because Arya’s arrival had completely shattered the balance of power.
Kaelan had been gravely wounded by Arya and had nearly lost his life. At the last possible moment, the vampire prince Gaston Lafayette arrived. Together, Gaston and Kaelan fought Arya and barely managed to allow Kaelan to escape alive.
Even so, Arya’s terrifying strength and near invincibility left countless Dark Clan soldiers shaken to the core.
Now, although the vampire army had arrived late, they had already completed their formation. Joined with Kaelan’s werewolf forces, they formed a pincer against the Cathedral legions. While Arya overwhelmingly surpassed both Gaston and Kaelan in terms of top-tier power, the Dark Clans still held a clear numerical advantage among their regular troops.
Because of this, the Cathedral forces were also exercising restraint, unwilling to make any reckless advances.
Inside a white command tent, Arya held a warm holy glow in her palm. Slowly, the light faded and withdrew back into her body.
“There,” she said calmly. “Archbishop, your wounds are healed.”
Kass adjusted his crimson robes and replied solemnly, “Thank you, Archangel.”
Arya waved her hand dismissively. “There’s no need for such formality. You are still the supreme commander of our forces. I came here with another mission. If you require anything, just say the word.”
Kass studied the situation carefully. “With your arrival, Archangel, even though we face two Dark Princes—Gaston and Kaelan—commanding the enemy forces, victory still favors us, despite our disadvantage in numbers.”
Arya smiled faintly. “I’m not concerned about the Dark Clans. Gaston and Kaelan together may seem formidable, but if I truly wished to kill them, I could do so at the cost of only a small price.”
Kass shook his head. “Archangel, your status is far too precious. You are the sword in His Holiness the Pope’s hand. You must not suffer even the slightest injury.”
He continued, “My suggestion is to form an alliance with Andrew of Abyss City. If we do, our chances of victory would rise to one hundred percent.”
“This man’s martial strength is extraordinary—greater than mine, Lysander’s, and even Makhaylus’s. If he were to intercept one Dark Prince, you could eliminate the other without risk. The battle would be decided in a single stroke.”
Arya’s expression hardened. “Archbishop, do not bring this up again. Andrew of Abyss City must be purified. To a certain extent, his evil and corruption surpass even those of Kaelan and Gaston.”
Kass frowned. “Oh? What do you mean by that?”
“Andrew is indeed ambitious, and he is the son of Reginald Lloyd of Holtrien. In Lomuia’s archives, his name is well known. He once led Holtrien’s legendary Iron Cavalry.”
“From what I can see, his growth and future potential may even surpass Reginald’s. He is certainly dangerous—but as for evil and corruption… forgive my lack of insight, but I do not see it.”
Arya raised her voice, her tone sharp and unyielding. “Archbishop, you have been campaigning on the battlefield for too long. Exhaustion has clouded your judgment.”
“I understand that—but Andrew’s evil is absolutely real.”
“The moment I arrived in the Outlands, I sensed the unbearable dark aura surrounding him. Though he is human, his level of corruption and blasphemy against our Lord is comparable to that of the Dark Clan progenitors themselves!”
