Rising from the Ashes (Andrew and Lauren) Chapter 3010
Alonzo reminded him, “Watch your attitude. From what we’ve seen, Andrew is arrogant and razor-sharp. If you go in acting high and mighty, he won’t buy it—and you might even provoke him. That would be counterproductive. Understand?”
Cyril’s face twisted with humiliation. “I understand. But may I suggest sending someone else to negotiate with Andrew? After all, I’ve had a direct confrontation with him before.”
Alonzo waved dismissively. “No need. Precisely because you’ve met him, you’re the right person. Past conflicts don’t matter anymore. At this point, you’re likely no match for him, so you should know exactly how to protect yourself—and the family.”
Cyril’s expression tightened. “Fine. I’ll set out immediately.”
Of course, Cyril knew what that meant. To protect himself and the Ludendorff family, he would have to bow, beg for mercy, plaster on a smile, and flatter Andrew. Yet he was a martial god, one of the family’s pillars—and not long ago, Andrew had been his prey. He had never imagined the roles would reverse so quickly. Now, he was the one forced to grovel.
The thought alone filled him with resentment. It burned in his chest, hard to bear, stoking his fury.
Just then, a figure in a wheelchair was pushed into the hall. His body was wrapped in dense medical equipment, completely immobilized. Only his eyes—pale, bloodshot, and warped with hatred—moved restlessly.
Alonzo and the others frowned. “Prescott, you should be resting and recovering. Why are you here?” one elder scolded.
Prescott’s face flushed crimson, his lips trembling with rage. “I want revenge. Uncle Alonzo, let me go with Cyril to Abyss City. I’ll make sure Andrew dies this time.”
Alonzo waved him off impatiently. “Don’t create unnecessary trouble. Someone, take him back. Keep a close watch on him and don’t let him wander around endangering his health.”
“I’m not leaving!” Prescott roared. “I hate him! I hate Andrew! He destroyed me. I have to kill him—no, I want to torture him until he begs for death. If I can’t have my revenge, I’d rather die. I’d rather go to hell!”
Alonzo snapped, furious. “Prescott, have you had enough? In your current condition, how do you plan to fight anyone? I’m telling Cyril to keep a low profile—let alone you, crippled as you are.”
His voice turned cold. “Raiden has left Throne City on important business related to the Veiled Paradise. But don’t think that means no one can control you now. The family will deal with your situation—but this is not the time to tear open old wounds with Andrew. Do you understand?”
Prescott let out a bitter laugh and swept his gaze across the hall.
Those who once bowed and scraped for his favor now looked at him with cold indifference, barely sparing him a glance. The truth was obvious: he was a cripple now. Useless. Beyond clinging to life, he had no value. Once the heir of the family, in a year or two he would be forgotten. The Ludendorff family had no place for the weak—let alone someone worse than weak.
As the servants wheeled him out, Prescott suddenly struggled. His eyes turned bloodshot as he shouted hoarsely, “Take me to the Sacred Mountain of the vampire clan. I’ll do whatever it takes to come back—to get my revenge!”
The servant froze. “Your Highness, you—”
Prescott whipped his head around, glaring savagely, blood seeping from between his clenched teeth. “Are you deaf? I said arrange my trip to the Sacred Mountain of the vampire clan. Tell Uncle Alonzo this is my decision. I willingly accept the vampire transformation.”
His voice shook with obsession. “All I want is my body back. My strength back. I want that little bastard to regret ever crossing the Ludendorff family.”
