Rising from the Ashes (Andrew and Lauren) Chapter 2760
Here’s to us—and may our friendship last forever!” Inside the Lloyd family’s hotel, Andrew lifted his glass one final time. “Tomorrow, I’ll be leaving Chetvine. No matter where life takes us after this, I’ll always remember everyone here, drinking with me tonight.”
This time, no one raised a glass right away. Instead, they stared at Andrew in stunned silence. Aside from his three confidantes and Sheena, no one knew he was leaving for Mount Lourneau the next day.
Isabelle was the first to cry out, her voice breaking. “Andrew, you’re leaving tomorrow? No! Wherever you go, I’m going with you.”
Andrew waved her off with a gentle smile. “Belle, where I’m going isn’t suitable for you. It could even be dangerous. Don’t worry—I’ll come back to Chetvine.”
Isabelle refused to back down. “Then when will you be back? Half a day? One day? Two hours?”
Andrew chuckled. “I can’t say for sure. But it definitely won’t be as short as you’re imagining.”
Emir scolded her. “He’s going to handle serious matters. Back in two hours? What are you thinking?” Then he turned to Andrew with a smile. “May I ask where you’re headed?”
“Mount Lourneau,” Andrew answered plainly.
Everyone present immediately understood. Andrew’s situation was hardly a secret. Nearly everyone in Chetvine knew that the Lloyd family’s Dragon Prince had his energy core sealed years ago, causing his strength to plummet. Even Mylo had already reached the second stage of the martial emperor realm, far surpassing Andrew. It wasn’t that Andrew lacked talent—his sealed energy core was holding him back.
“Andrew, since you’re leaving, I won’t say anything unnecessary,” Mylo said, lifting his glass. “We all know your energy core is the most important matter in your life right now. I passed through Mount Lourneau when I was younger, and I sincerely wish you safety.”
Andrew smiled. “Thank you.”
Emir raised his glass as well, his expression serious for once. “Sheena, Andrew—since the three of us siblings came to your gathering today, it means our family’s past grudges with you are officially wiped clean. What happened in the older generation stays there.”
He continued, “But for the three of us, you’ve treated us with respect, and we truly consider you a friend. Especially my baby sister—she’s so good to you that even I get jealous. Anyway, that’s beside the point. Andrew, this one’s for you. I just want to say that even though you can act a bit full of yourself, I respect you.”
He tipped his head back and drained his glass in one go.
Isabelle pouted playfully. “Emir, you’re such a hypocrite. You know Andrew has you wrapped around his finger, yet you’re still pretending you’re equals.”
Emir’s face flushed instantly with a mix of embarrassment and anger.
After that, Devin of the Iron Sword Sect and several other elites from Chetvine offered their own farewell words to Andrew. Their presence symbolized the goodwill of the forces backing them. It was a subtle but unmistakable signal that they intended to strengthen ties with the Lloyd family.
Andrew didn’t mind. He had never judged friends by their background. Besides, no matter how powerful they were now, none of them were stronger than he had been at his peak.
Luna sat quietly in the corner, wanting to speak several times but never finding the words. Her beautiful eyes kept drifting toward Andrew, even as she tried to look away. She hadn’t known he would be leaving Chetvine tomorrow, and the timing cut deep. Just hours earlier, the two of them had been completely entwined—lost in each other, sweet and inseparable. Now he was leaving so suddenly, and sadness washed over her, tinged with a sharp ache of longing.
Unlike Aspen, Natasha, and Rowan, who spent every day with Andrew, Luna had only just stepped into his world. She was still standing alone, without the comfort or support of the other women. It was only natural that her heart hurt this much.
