Rising from the Ashes (Andrew and Lauren) Chapter 2742
Andrew realized he had overreacted earlier, so he laughed it off. “Madam Baxter, you’re not old at all. If you don’t believe me, just take off your veil and let me admire you properly. My eye for beauty is top-tier—if I say you’re gorgeous, then you’re definitely stunning.”
Under the veil, Brielle’s expression shifted, a mix of embarrassment and irritation. She huffed lightly. “Smooth talker. Mr. Lloyd, I should be going now. The world is vast. If fate allows, we’ll meet again.”
Andrew sighed. “Madam Baxter, you stopped enjoying a wandering life long ago. Why not find a quiet place to settle down? Medicine God’s Covenant would be perfect for you. If you come, I’ll hand you the director’s position on the spot.”
Brielle smirked. “You’d give me the director’s seat just like that? Are you really willing? Are you sure?”
Andrew patted his chest. “Absolutely. Madam Baxter, join us and build something great together. With you here, Medicine God’s Covenant could surpass Sovereign’s Apothecary and dominate the alchemy world in Holtrien.”
Brielle shook her head. “I admire you, and I know you mean every word. But if you think from my perspective, you’ll understand why it’s impossible. Even if I stayed here and went nowhere else, I still couldn’t work under you. Julius and the Divine Alchemists would crush both of us without hesitation.”
Andrew let out a cold snort. “Julius and the Divine Alchemists are powerful, yes. But I’m not weak either. And the connections I’ve built in Chetvine aren’t just for show.”
Brielle sighed softly. “Andrew, you’re still young, and you have a long road ahead of you.
“Listen to me. You must keep growing stronger—again and again—because only then can you truly control your own destiny. Your network is impressive, and you’re the Lloyd family’s Dragon Prince, with the Lloyd royal family backing you. That’s an enormous force. But you’ve already realized that even a giant like the Lloyd royal family has moments when its hands are tied.”
She continued calmly, “People like Guillermo are circling like vultures. In the end, everything becomes meaningless except your own martial strength. Only when you reach the absolute peak will you gain real freedom.
“When that day comes, maybe I’ll consider becoming your subordinate and serving under you. Because by then, even if Julius is furious, I won’t be afraid of dragging you down with me.”
With that, Brielle stood up and walked out of Medicine God’s Covenant.
Andrew watched her graceful, elegant figure fade from sight, unable to suppress a trace of regret. If Medicine God’s Covenant could recruit her, it would truly be perfect.
Amari walked over, shaking his head with a sigh. “Andrew, this is honestly heartbreaking.”
Andrew looked at him, confused. “What are you heartbroken about? You’re getting married soon, your career is thriving, and you’re happy every day. What’s there to be upset about?”
Amari rolled his eyes. “What am I upset about? I’m upset for you. Madam Baxter is a rare kind of woman. I don’t know her exact age, but she’s definitely not old. Her skin looks smooth like porcelain, practically baby-soft. She has real charm.”
He leaned closer and lowered his voice. “If you could win her over and bring her under your wing, you’d not only have an incredible woman by your side, but Medicine God’s Covenant would gain a powerful ally. That’s what I call a win-win.”
Andrew shook his head. “Amari, you’re too greedy. Madam Baxter has an iron will. She just told me she has a child and is about to travel the world to find them.”
Amari froze for a moment, then blurted out, “Damn, she already has a kid? That’s even better. Mature women are top-tier. Who wouldn’t want that?”
Andrew ignored him completely. Back then, Amari had been a lust-driven troublemaker. Now, he had simply grown into an older one.
