Rising from the Ashes (Andrew and Lauren) Chapter 2713
Andrew looked down at her coldly. “I told you to kneel and call me daddy.”
Mikayla’s fury burned through her. “Andrew, don’t push it.”
Andrew sneered. “Push it? Mikayla, you seriously don’t understand the position you’re in. All I have to do is walk away, and your fate will be worse than death. Koda commands a pack of wolves—how many do you think you can fend off?”
Mikayla’s expression kept shifting, and she forced out through gritted teeth, “Andrew, I’m the heiress of the Chetvine Owens family. My father—”
Andrew cut her off, impatient and cold.
“Idiot. You’re still putting on an act when death is staring you down. I’m not the type who goes easy on people—especially not on someone as stubborn and reckless as you.”
He began counting. “Three… two… This is your last chance. Do what I say, or I’ll let Koda deal with you however he wants.”
Humiliation surged through Mikayla, violent enough to make her want to rip Andrew apart. But she had no choice. She would not let herself be thrown to a group of men who would tear her dignity apart in ways she could never recover from.
“…Daddy,” she forced out.
Andrew tilted his head. “Louder. I didn’t hear you.”
Her face flushed with rage and shame, her teeth grinding so hard it hurt. “Daddy! Andrew, you’re my… daddy.”
Andrew chuckled and crouched in front of her, studying her resentment-twisted face. “Look at that. The great heiress of the Owens family. Mikayla, you’re nothing in front of me. Not only can I make you kneel and call me that, but I have countless ways to destroy you and make your life a living hell.”
He leaned in slightly. “Back in Chetvine, you loved picking fights with me, didn’t you? Thought I couldn’t touch you?”
Tears welled in Mikayla’s eyes. “Andrew, you’re going too far!”
Andrew scoffed. “This is just a small lesson. Next time won’t be this easy.”
Mikayla snapped, her anger outweighing her fear. “Then what do you want? Go on—hurt me however you want and see if I don’t get my revenge!”
Andrew paused, staring at her like she’d said something absurd. Then he laughed and shook his head. “You think I’m desperate enough to do something like that? Please. I’m not interested in trash.”
The words cut deeper than anything else, but Andrew was already done with her.
“The only reason you’re still alive is because you’re useful. You live—but Lorenzo and the Owens family will pay the price.”
Mikayla’s body tensed. “W-What are you planning now?”
She had already felt Andrew’s ruthlessness firsthand. By now, fear had carved its place deep inside her.
Andrew smirked. “You’ll find out. No need to rush.”
With that, he walked away.
Taking twenty-eight alchemists with them was no simple task. These people—normally pampered with endless materials—had brought so many supplies that even several trucks struggled to carry everything.
But Andrew didn’t rush them or restrict what they could bring. Every alchemist, as long as they had the resources they needed, would produce immense value in the future. Even those below fifth-grade, if they devoted their lives to serving the Medicine God’s Covenant, could generate fortunes.
So he gave the twenty-eight alchemists complete freedom. Because he treated them so well, the group felt much more at ease.
Maybe… going to Chetvine would truly be a fresh start for them.
