The Unwanted Wife and Her Secret Twins Chapter 91

    Facing Demon

    425 BOWS

Time slowed to a crawl as I watched Taylor’s Porsche barreling toward me. My body moved on inster, fud reflexes kicking in despite my awkward pregnant state. I threw myself sideways, rolling onto the grasst beside the walkway. The impact sent shooting pain through my ankle, but the soft ground cushioned my 12 enough to protect my stomach.

The horrific screech of metal on concrete filled the air as Taylor’s car slammed into the retaining wall. The sound of the crash echoed off nearby buildings, followed by the tinkle of shattered glass hitting pavement.

My hands immediately went to my belly, checking for any signs of distress from the babies. They shifted normally – if anything, more active than usual from the adrenaline coursing through my system. My alle throbbed, but that was secondary to ensuring my children were safe.

With trembling fingers, I pulled out my phone and dialed 911.

    “911, what’s your emergency?”

“Someone just tried to run me over,” I said, keeping my voice as steady as possible. “I’m at 1542 Riverside Avenue. The driver crashed into a wall. I’m pregnant and need medical assistance to check for injuries.” 1

“Are you in immediate danger from the driver?”

“Not currently. They’re still in the vehicle.” I could see Taylor slumped over the steering wheel through the cracked windshield. “Please hurry.”

“Police and emergency services are en route. Stay on the line with me. Are you experiencing any pain or bleeding?”

“Just my ankle from dodging the car. No bleeding.” I pushed myself carefully to my feet, wincing at the pressure on my injured ankle. “My babies seem okay- they’re moving normally.”

“That’s good. Police should be there in approximately three minutes. Do not approach the vehicle. Find a safe location and wait for officers to arrive.”

After this phone call, I found that I was surprisingly calm. Except for a kind of immense anger. This anger did not start today, but a long, long time ago.

I found myself limping toward the wreckage of her car. (1)

Taylor was conscious, struggling with her seatbelt as smoke curled from the crumpled hood. The driver’s side door was jammed from the impact. Before she could stop me, I yanked her door open and dragged her out by her designer jacket.

She stumbled, caught off guard by my strength. I didn’t give her time to recover before my palm connected with her face in a slap that echoed off the surrounding buildings.

“Is that all you’ve got?” I demanded, my voice shaking with fury. “Or are you going to spin some story about how I caused your accident? Better work fast – there are security cameras covering this entire block.”

    Chapter 01 Facing Demon

Taylor stared at me, mascara streaking down her face. Her perfect facade was cracking, revealing something ngly underneath. She looked almost feral, her carefully maintained appearance dissolving along with her

    conssure.

“You should be dead,” she spat, hatred burning in her eyes.

“Really? That’s your play? Attempted murder in broad daylight?” I gestured to the ruined Porsche. “Not your

    smartest move.”

“Don’t get ahead of yourself, bitch,” she said to me, scowling

“Taylor, I actually don’t want to talk to you anymore. But since we have a few minutes left, I want to ask you a few things.”

“You don’t understand anything!” Her voice rose hysterically. “You’ve always had everything handed to you!” “Let’s start with your first lie – the day we met. Remember that ‘allergic reaction‘ you claimed I caused? The one that made my father punish me for weeks?”

She flinched slightly but rallied. “You did that on purpose!”

“No, that was your first successful manipulation. Then there was the job you claimed I stole – another lie. The pregnancy report you altered, leading to me losing my babies. The fake miscarriage during my mother’s surgery. Were you ever actually pregnant, Taylor? Or was that just another performance?”

“Shut up!” She tried to back away but I followed, forcing her to face me.

“And let’s not forget the pendant – the one you stole and used to convince Kyle you were his childhood savior. Tell me, Taylor, after living so many lies for so long, can you even recognize the truth anymore?”

Her face went chalk white. “No… you don’t know anything! You don’t understand anything!” Her voice rose hysterically. “You’ve always had everything handed to you!”

“I know everything,” I corrected coldly. “What I don’t understand is why. You already had everything – loving parents, money, opportunities. Why the obsession with destroying my life?”

“Had everything?” She laughed, the sound brittle and sharp. “You think I had anything handed to me? I worked for everything I have!”

“Is that what you call it? Lying, cheating, and attempted murder is ‘work‘ to you?”

“You’re so self–righteous!” She took a step toward me, hands clenched into fists. “You have lost everything not because of me, but your own punishment for your naivety and stupidity! No one can take everything for granted. he world doesn’t work that way! Someone had to teach you that lesson!”

I shook my head in disgust. “You’re delusional.”

“I’m pragmatic,” she snarled. “Everything I did was necessary. Your hypocritical kindness is really disgusting.

I looked at Taylor quietly for a few seconds. She was going too far. “Maybe, but keep these words, your lawyer may not like them.” I said calmly.

    Facing Demon

Her eyes widened as she finally looked up. “You’re… you’re pregnant?”

“Yes.” I rested one hand protectively over my babies. “Yes. But you can try. I have no mercy for anyone who wants to hurt them. And you, Taylor, are the first.”

Blue and red lights flooded the street as police cars and an ambulance arrived. Two officers approached cautiously, hands on their weapons.

“Step away from each other,” one commanded. “Hands where we can see them.”

I complied immediately, keeping my movements slow and deliberate. Taylor remained frozen, staring at my stomach with an unreadable expression.

“Are you the caller?” the female officer asked me.

“Yes. I’m Mia Williams. This woman tried to run me over with her car.” I pointed to the security cameras mounted on nearby buildings. “Everything should be on video.”

The male officer moved to handcuff Taylor while his partner continued questioning me.

“Are you injured? Do you need medical attention?”

“I hurt my ankle avoiding the car, but otherwise I think I’m okay. I am pregnant though.”

She signaled the paramedics over. “We’ll need to get you checked out, ma’am. Please sit down while we secure the scene.”

I sank gratefully onto a nearby bench, the adrenaline starting to fade as exhaustion set in. The paramedics fussed over me, checking vital signs and examining my ankle.

“Blood pressure’s a bit elevated,” one noted. “We should transport her to be safe.”

    –

“I need to tell my mother first,” I said. “She’s upstairs sleeping – she took pain medication for a sprained ankle earlier.”

“I’ll accompany you,” the female officer offered. “We’ll need your formal statement anyway.”

I nodded, allowing her to help me stand. She glared at me with pure hatred as they guided her into the back seat.

My ankle throbbed with each step, but I forced myself to move quietly as we entered the apartment. Gas wasn’t home yet – still with Nate and his dogs, thankfully missing all the drama.

Mom was exactly where I’d left her, sleeping peacefully in her recliner. The pain medication had done its job well. I hated to wake her but knew she’d be furious if I didn’t.

“Mom?” I touched her shoulder gently. “Mom, wake up for a minute.”

She stirred slowly, blinking in confusion at the uniformed officer beside me. “Mia? What’s happening? I thought I heard noises…”

“Just some construction work,” I lied smoothly. “But I n

She was already drifting back to sleep, the medication pulling her under again. “Be careful…”

“I will,” I promised, kissing her forehead. “Go back to sleep.”
