I was still awake when the sun slowly started to show. I had been here in my bed reaching out with my mind, trying to see if I could feel Madeleine. I hope she somehow can feel that I am on my way and will save her.

I got out and dressed in something easy, joggers and a hoodie. Then I took my back and left. When I got to Dad and Mom’s house, I saw that they were all busy. Rose, Enzo, and Antonio are here too, but Kyle and Matt are also here with Anna and my cousins.

“Kyle will stay back with Mom and our own front lines. We bring five hundred warriors with us. As we speak, they are already going to the airstrip to be loaded in the planes.” Dad tells me, and I look at Kyle. I nod my head. Dad made a good choice Kyle would give his life to protect the pack.

“My son will send two hundred and fifty warriors to help us here. I will keep our home safe.” Kyle promises.

“Thank you,” I say tiredly because I didn’t sleep.

“I think we’re ready. Let’s get going,” Dad says, and I see everyone kissing and hugging their mates. Then Rose hugs me.

“Everything will be okay, brother.” She says, and I hug her back.

“Be careful, my son, don’t act rashly,” Mom says, hugging me as well. I feel energy pour into me. She knew I was tired.

“Thank you, Mom,” I whisper and follow the others to the cars after nodding my head to Kyle.

Sitting in the plane is torture, the flight is long and I know every minute counts. But I know everyone on this plane feels this way right now, so I try to calm down. “We will find her,” Enzo said quietly, and I nodded.

“I still feel her, and it’s getting stronger. That got to be a good thing.” I am not sure about what I say.

“It is a good thing, and it means you were getting closer.” He says and I sit back in my seat. I closed my eyes trying to sense her, but something was blocking me. I sigh and keep my eyes closed, thinking about her.

‘I will be there soon.’ I promise in my mind.

“In here, hurry,” Dad tells us, and we do as he says.

The last few days have been hard. The invasion, Dad’s fight to save me, the run. And the quick shift I had to do. Juliette was like a zombie, and Mom was terrified we would lose her. Blaise is pissed off and wants to fight not hide, and Beau, we have no idea where he is after he managed to sneak away. But Dad says he can feel he is safe, so I chose to believe that.

In France, one of the other bigger packs Alpha had told Dad we could hide on their land. Just not in the center of his pack, because rumor is the rouge leader is searching for us. So here we are in an old rundown cabin, but I don’t care as long we are alive.

Mom tries to make it comfortable for Juliette. And Dad and Blaise go try to find something to heat this place up.

I sit in an old broken armchair but pull my legs up and hug myself, hoping someone will save us.

I had been scared when the rouge leader tried to mark me. I was so scared that for a second, I felt a strength from someone else. Someone extremely powerful and had felt eager like never before just before the connection broke.

But I had felt him, The young king, the true king. But it had felt different from when we met on his birthday, and somehow, there was more in it. And I didn’t know how to explain it so I had said nothing.

“We stay here for a short while, and I’m sure someone will come,” Dad says after he and Blaise return, but no one answers.

“What about the pack?” I ask.

“Many are dead, sweetheart. I feel the pack links dying, and I have

since we were invaded. He could not have stopped the rouges from raping and killing wolves had you accepted his offer. For now, the best we can do is stay hidden and later try to find those who survived.” Dad said.

“I didn’t get my phone,” Blaise says.

“None of us did,” Dad says

“Then how you suppose we will be found,” Blaise says grumpy. “Someone will find us. I can feel it.” I say quietly, and Dad nods his head. “Someone will find us. Try to get some rest.” Dad says, repeating my words.

I close my eyes and try to rest. But it is hard knowing the rouge leader is looking

for me. Suddenly, it felt like something touched my soul, and words I didn’t know were some from form for me to see or feel.

“I will be there soon.” And then it’s gone. But the soft touch to my soul had the same feeling as when the king had touched me.

Is he looking for us? If he is, why? And why did I feel him like this? Is it because

he is the true king, or is there even more to it? If there is what? And what will happen in the future?

Eventually, I fell asleep from being exhausted, and his blue eyes and touch haunted me.
