Chapter 2621

Raindrops mixed with the scent of blood clung to her face. Grace listened to the cries coming from behind the wooden wall, then suddenly drew the longsword from her waist.

With a flash of cold steel, the iron lock on the wooden wall snapped.

“Open all the doors!” Grace’s voice cut through the rain, full of unshakable authority. “Divide the quarantine area. Move the healthy to the open space on the east side. The infected go into the shacks on the west side. Move quickly!”

A golden light gathered at Logan’s fingertips and shot precisely at the sharpened bamboo pieces at the top of the wooden wall. The bamboo fell away, clearing a safe path for him to climb without getting scratched.

Medical staff charged through the mud and into the crowd, lighting bundles of wormwood they’d brought. Acrid green smoke twisted upward through the rain, slightly masking the foul stench in the air.

“Is this… medicine?!”

A gaunt man holding a clay pot stared, a glimmer of hope flickering in his cloudy eyes.

Beside him, a child burned with fever, lips cracked and trembling. After being fed two spoonfuls of medicine, the child’s twitching slowly calmed.

Just then, hurried footsteps approached from the west.

More than a dozen soldiers in gas masks stormed in.

Their leader wore black armor with a tiger-head emblem on his belt. It was Trevor, commander of Tristan’s Huben Camp.

“Who dares to enter the quarantine zone?!” Trevor barked, drawing a steel pistol as he led his elite soldiers into the slums.

They plowed forward without hesitation, shoving and kicking aside anyone in their path with brutal force.

Grace turned around slowly, the rain sliding down her pale cheeks.

“You work for Tristan?” she asked coldly.

“How dare you! How dare you speak my lord’s name like that? You must have a death wish!” Trevor snapped.

“How dare you disrespect Princess Grace!” Stevie shouted angrily.

“Hmph! Princess Grace? Don’t be ridiculous. Why would a princess come to a filthy place like this?” Trevor scoffed.

“You—!”

Stevie was about to argue, but Grace raised her hand, silencing her.

Staring at Trevor, Grace said in a cold, calm voice, “General, my identity doesn’t matter. Our people are in danger. As a general of Dragonmarsh, you’re duty-bound to help. We desperately need medicine. I need your cooperation.”

“I’m only responsible for guarding the quarantine zone and preventing the plague from spreading,” Trevor replied coldly. “Anything else is none of my business. Since you’ve entered the quarantine area, you’ll all be treated as infected. If you stay put, fine. If you try to leave—don’t blame me for what happens.”

As they spoke, a terrified citizen tried to slip past the blockade and escape.

“Defying orders? Kill him!”

Trevor didn’t hesitate. He gave the order without a second thought.

Two soldiers rushed forward, tackled the man to the ground, and struck him down with their weapons.

Boom!

A gust of wind suddenly blasted through, flinging the two soldiers several feet away.

Logan appeared in front of Grace, eyes cold. “Anyone who dares act out in front of Princess Grace—dies.”

Trevor’s eyes widened in alarm. He hadn’t even seen Logan move. Clearly, this man was no ordinary fighter.

“As a general of Dragonmarsh, you’re killing your own people like animals,” Grace said angrily. “Do you even recognize the law anymore?!”

“The king’s law?” Trevor burst into laughter. The copper studs on his armor gleamed in the rain. “In Wugang City, the prince’s word is the law. And you—who are you to lecture me?”

He raised his arm, and over a dozen soldiers stepped forward in a shield formation, advancing steadily.

The people behind the wooden wall screamed in panic. The small spark of hope Grace had brought was quickly being crushed by fear.

Logan didn’t waste time. He raised his hand, and golden light burst forth, crashing into the shield wall.

The elite soldiers were swept off their feet like leaves in a storm, landing hard in the mud. They never stood a chance.

“Hm?” Trevor’s face changed.

Realizing how easily his troops had fallen, he clenched his jaw, then hurled the tiger-head weapon at Logan with full force.

Wind and rain carried the weapon in a streak of deadly light.

Logan dodged effortlessly, then flicked his fingers—another flash of golden light shot out, striking Trevor’s back.

The tiger-head weapon flew from Trevor’s hand and buried itself in the mud.

His arms went numb. When he looked into Logan’s cold eyes, real fear finally set in.

“Who… who are you?” Trevor’s voice trembled, and he stumbled back a step.

“You’re not worthy of knowing my name,” Logan said coldly.

“You abuse your power and treat lives like dirt,” Grace said. “Seize him!”

Her guards stepped forward.

Trevor’s face twisted. He tried to resist, but Logan moved again—this time placing a hand on his shoulder.

Golden spiritual energy surged into Trevor’s body, instantly draining his internal strength. He collapsed to the ground.

Grace’s guards quickly stepped in and tied him up.
