“Trying to escape?” Logan’s voice boomed through the corridor like thunder. “You slaughtered tens of thousands—did you ever think this day wouldn’t come?”

A flash of ruthlessness flickered in the Great Elder’s eyes. Suddenly, he flung the human skin from his body into the air. “Blood Sacrifice—Begin!”

The skin swelled midair into a massive blood-red curtain, writhing with countless distorted human faces that screamed in agony.
