Chapter 2605
“Your Highness! Thousands of our soldiers were just slaughtered out there!”
“If I don’t wipe out those monsters myself, how could I ever face the fallen souls of our comrades?!”
Kyle’s voice trembled with grief and fury, his hand clenched so tightly it shook.
“The dead can’t be brought back,” Matthias said solemnly. “The best way to honor their sacrifice is to stay alive and figure out a way to strike back. If you throw your life away now, it’ll all be for nothing. You need to retreat.”
While it was easy to replace ordinary soldiers, losing a seasoned general like Kyle was like losing a limb.
There was no way Matthias was going to let that happen.
“Your Highness…” Kyle started, still unwilling.
“That’s an order!” Matthias cut him off sharply.
Just then, the zombie horde surged closer. Anxiety flickered across Matthias’s face as he grabbed Kyle and yanked him into the helicopter beside them.
The aircraft roared to life. Winds howled as the blades spun up, and the helicopter quickly lifted off.
At that moment, a zombie leapt up nearly eight meters and raked its claws across the fuselage, leaving several deep gashes.
The chopper jolted violently. Matthias’s face went pale in shock, but the pilot quickly stabilized the craft and gained more altitude, speeding away from the danger.
The helicopter soared through the air, soon putting distance between them and the zombie army.
But the zombies didn’t stop—they continued to chase, relentless and undeterred.
They didn’t need to see or hear. They just followed the scent of the living.
…
Meanwhile, back in Liyanche City.
Unlike Matthias’s chaotic escape, Nathaniel had taken a more strategic approach.
He didn’t engage the zombies head-on. Instead, he mobilized the army to evacuate civilians as quickly as possible.
At the same time, he ordered fortifications to be built to slow the zombies’ advance.
His logic was simple: if he couldn’t deal with the problem himself, then let the one who could handle it step in.
He believed that the mysterious master who had once destroyed the red mist wouldn’t ignore the situation now.
Nathaniel’s job was to protect the people and buy time—just long enough for that powerhouse to arrive.
Of course, he wasn’t putting all his eggs in one basket. He had a backup plan.
If even that master couldn’t stop the zombies, they would request air support from Oakvale to conduct a full-scale bombing operation.
But that would reduce much of Liyanche to ruins.
Who knew how long it would take to rebuild after that?
Such weapons of mass destruction were a last resort—an absolute last resort. The cost would be too steep.
…
Dawn.
Pucheng.
Thanks to Grace’s suicide squad, thousands of zombies were herded into a narrow canyon.
Flanked by high cliffs and with barely enough space for three people to walk side by side, the canyon forced the horde into a long, narrow line.
Atop the canyon wall, Logan stood calmly on the cliff’s edge, watching the chaos below.
Once all the zombies were inside, Logan finally moved.
He raised both hands high—then clapped them together at the canyon’s mouth.
BOOM!
The earth rumbled violently.
The mountains on both sides of the canyon started closing in—like a giant invisible force was crushing them together.
The canyon’s front collapsed first, sealing off the zombies’ only exit.
Then the rear collapsed, cutting off their retreat.
Now trapped between the closing walls, the zombies roared and shrieked, but it was no use—they were going nowhere.
“Back to the abyss where you belong.”
Logan took a deep breath and pressed both palms outward toward the cliffs.
BOOM!!
With a thunderous crash, the two mountains slammed together, completely swallowing the canyon.
In an instant, the entire zombie horde was gone—crushed and buried deep beneath the rock.
Still not satisfied, Logan swept his hands through the air again.
Huge boulders rained down from the peaks above, piling even more weight atop the already-sealed canyon.
Now, unless the entire mountain was flattened, those zombies weren’t coming out.
Immortal? Indestructible? Incredibly evil?
So what?
Buried under tons of stone, they’d never see daylight again.
…
Inside a helicopter hovering above.
Grace and Stevie stared at the spectacle below in stunned silence.
Even though she had been prepared, Grace still couldn’t help the awe in her eyes.
With just a few gestures, Logan had moved mountains.
Was this what it meant to be a land-immortal?
A living god?
Stevie was even more shaken.
Back when Logan had created that energy vortex to absorb the red mist, she hadn’t fully understood what he was capable of.
But now—after watching him literally crush a mountain pass with his bare hands—she finally realized just how terrifyingly powerful the white figure truly was.
This was beyond human comprehension.
