- An Understated Dominance Chapter 2603
“Zombies?”
Logan raised his brows, clearly surprised. “I’ve only read about them—never seen one in real life. Are they really as dangerous as the legends say?”
Zombies were said to be creatures beyond the six realms of rebirth—immortal beings that feed on human blood and absorb the essence of the sun and moon.
Ancient texts recorded that powerful zombies could wipe out entire cities, leaving nothing but barren wastelands for thousands of miles.
“They’re pure evil,” Grace said gravely. “Steel skin, iron bones—ordinary weapons barely scratch them. But the real horror is the corpse poison they carry. One bite or even a scratch, and you’re infected. Then it spreads like wildfire—one turns into ten, ten into a hundred.”
The corpse poison was far more terrifying than any plague.
Plagues could at least be contained with medicine. But once the corpse poison spread, the only solution was total eradication. Every infected person had to die—or the cycle would never end.
If they didn’t stop the zombies in time, Pucheng’s fall was inevitable.
“The White Bone Cult just won’t stop,” Logan said, his tone sharp with anger. “First the plague, then the red fog, and now this? One disaster after another—they’re really pushing it.”
He had recently broken through and grown significantly stronger, but being forced to respond to every crisis was starting to wear thin.
If he could find the cult’s hiding place, he wouldn’t hesitate to wipe them out completely.
“I’ve ordered the military to block major roads,” Grace said. “But I can’t guarantee it’ll stop a full-on zombie onslaught. If the army falls, the people of Pucheng will be defenseless. The city will be drenched in blood.”
The corpse poison was just too infectious. If soldiers started turning, the situation would spiral fast.
“What do you need me to do?” Logan asked directly.
He knew she wouldn’t have summoned him without a reason.
“I need you to stop the zombies,” Grace said. “If you can wipe them out entirely, even better.”
“How many are we talking about?” Logan asked.
“Hundreds, maybe thousands. And it’s spreading fast,” Grace replied.
“That many, scattered across the city? I doubt I can kill them faster than they multiply,” Logan said after a pause.
“Here’s what we’ll do—have the army evacuate the civilians. Keep them far away from infected zones. Then, pick a few teams to herd the zombies into one area. Once they’re all gathered, I’ll take care of the rest. It’ll be faster, cleaner, and fewer people will die.”
“Great idea. I’ll arrange it right now.”
Grace immediately summoned her team and gave the orders.
Logan was right—chasing scattered zombies all over the city was a waste of time. Concentrated extermination was the best strategy.
“Knowing how the White Bone Cult operates, I doubt Pucheng is their only target,” Logan said suddenly.
“You’re right,” Grace replied with a serious nod. “Liyanche was the first city to be attacked, followed by Linche and Wugang. Pucheng was hit last, so our situation’s actually better than theirs. Liyanche is a disaster—over a thousand people have already been infected.”
“Four cities under siege at the same time,” Logan said, his expression darkening. “The White Bone Cult really is trying to throw the entire region into chaos.”
“They’re planning a massive blood sacrifice,” Grace said, frowning. “They want to summon their so-called White Bone God using all these lives.”
“Then we’ll need to stop this on every front,” Logan said firmly. “We’ll deal with Pucheng first, but we can’t ignore the other cities. Send word to the three princes—have them evacuate civilians and isolate the infected. Then find a way to gather the zombies in one place. I’ll deal with them, one city at a time.”
“Got it!” Grace didn’t hesitate. She immediately began contacting the others.
Right now, it wasn’t just about saving a few cities—the entire southern frontier was at stake.
If this corpse poison continued to spread, it would destabilize all of Dragonmarsh.
A catastrophe like this could shake the very foundation of the nation.
When Grace relayed Logan’s plan to the three princes, each reacted differently.
Tristan didn’t hesitate. He trusted Grace and saw the logic in Logan’s plan.
With no better options on the table, he quickly began evacuating civilians and setting up barriers to slow the spread of the poison.
He was counting on the mysterious powerhouse to wipe out the threat.
Compared to Tristan’s cooperation, Matthias was much more stubborn.
In his eyes, brute force could solve anything—and zombies weren’t worth fearing.
He had guns, tanks, and artillery. Why run? That was cowardice in his book.
But that arrogance…
Would cost him dearly.
