Chapter 2602
“What’s going on? Why are those people jumping like that?”
“Their eyes are glowing green… that’s not normal. Are they monsters or something?”
“Stay sharp! Don’t let your guard down!”
…
As the figures drew closer, the soldiers tensed and raised their rifles.
The strange figures moved faster and faster—until they finally reached the checkpoint.
With the lights shining on them, the soldiers could finally see their faces—and their expressions turned to horror.
“Zombies! They’re zombies!”
“Open fire! Now!”
Faced with the dry, stiff bodies and glowing green eyes, the guards didn’t hesitate. They opened fire immediately.
A flurry of bullets tore through the air—rat-a-tat-tat—but when the smoke cleared, the zombies were still standing.
Their tattered clothes were ripped further, but their bodies were untouched.
The bullets hadn’t done a thing.
It was like shooting steel.
“ROAR!”
The leading zombie lunged forward, grabbed a soldier, and sank its teeth into his neck.
The soldier screamed in agony. His rifle fell from his hands as his entire body started convulsing.
Before their eyes, his strong frame began to wither and collapse, his flesh shriveling like dried fruit.
It only took seconds to die.
The zombie’s eyes glowed even brighter green after the bite.
One soldier down.
Then another.
And another.
It was over in moments.
The entire squad was wiped out.
Mortal flesh and blood were no match for the zombies raised and enhanced by the White Bone Cult.
The seven undead creatures moved on, hopping further into the city, drawn by the scent of living humans.
Moments later, the first bitten soldier began to twitch violently on the ground.
His once-lifeless eyes flickered—then glowed green.
He stood.
No longer a man—now a zombie.
Then came the second.
The third.
The fourth…
Soon, all the fallen soldiers rose again, infected by the corpse poison and turned into zombie carriers.
Just like their creators, they followed the scent of humans, stumbling deeper into the city.
A new catastrophe had begun.
But unlike the red mist plague before it, this was worse.
The red mist had been terrifying, yes—but it could still be contained.
You could block roads. You could quarantine districts. You could fight the spread with medicine.
Not with this.
The corpse poison didn’t wait. It didn’t spare.
Whether you were hiding at home or behind barricades—if you were breathing, the zombies would find you.
One bite—and it was over.
Each bite spawned a new carrier.
One became ten.
Ten became a hundred.
A hundred became thousands…
The infection spread through Liyanche City faster than anyone could imagine.
By the time Nathaniel realized what was happening and tried to mount a response, it was too late.
Thousands were already infected—and the number was climbing.
He was in a complete tailspin.
The red mist had just been cleared—he hadn’t even had a moment to breathe.
And now this?
The White Bone Cult clearly wouldn’t stop until the city was utterly destroyed.
Their methods were brutal. Their reach—impossible to predict.
And it wasn’t just Liyanche.
Wugang, Linche, and Pucheng were under siege too.
The undead raised by the cult’s foul magic had already begun to sweep through those cities, spreading death and poison wherever they roamed.
Each city fell into chaos—some worse than others.
…
Meanwhile, in Pucheng—
Logan sat cross-legged in deep meditation, refining the three most recent blood-colored energy beads.
Though poisonous, each bead contained immense power—and for Logan, they were a precious tonic.
He had recently broken through a new level of cultivation. His body was still adapting. These beads were helping stabilize his realm.
Just then, a sharp knock came at the door—followed by Stevie’s urgent voice.
“Mr. Rhys! Something’s happened in Pucheng! The boss needs you—immediately!”
“Hm?”
Logan’s eyes opened slowly. He raised a hand—and with a simple gesture, the door flew open.
“What’s the panic about? I thought the red mist had been taken care of,” he asked calmly.
“It’s not about the mist! There’s a new threat. Miss Linsor will explain everything herself,” Stevie said, his voice strained.
“All right,” Logan replied.
And then—in the blink of an eye—he vanished.
Stevie froze on the spot.
Just a moment ago, Logan had been right there—and now he was gone without a trace.
A living god, no doubt about it.
…
Logan reappeared in another room—specifically, in the middle of the living room where Grace Linsor was speaking with her inner circle.
The moment she saw him, she waved her hand, dismissing her confidants.
“I heard from Stevie. What’s going on? What kind of new disaster are we dealing with?” Logan asked.
Her expression darkened.
“Zombies,” she said grimly. “We just got word—several villages on Pucheng’s outskirts were attacked. Not a single survivor.”
She took a breath.
“Now, those zombies are marching toward the city center. If we don’t stop them in time… we’re looking at another total collapse.”
