    Chapter 2428

“How many tricks does this old man have?!”

The explosion of the talismans sent shockwaves through the battlefield, leaving everyone stunned and furious.

No one had expected Arion Foyer to unleash such overwhelming power, especially after his golden light spell had been neutralized and the lightning attacks proved ineffective. Yet, the simultaneous detonation of hundreds of talismans created a devastating force that terrified all but the strongest warriors.

Only the likes of Blood Demon William, Bear King Bailey, and Fist Saint Basong, with their unparalleled physical endurance, managed to hold their ground. The rest were gravely injured, their strength rapidly dwindling.

At that moment, the crowd fully grasped why Arion Foyer was feared as the most powerful man in Dragonmarsh.

    “Interesting.”

Blood Demon William steadied himself after being flung back, his cracked, desiccated skin oozing thin streams of blood. The explosion had primarily targeted him. Though his defenses were formidable, even he had not escaped unscathed.

However, these injuries were hardly a concern. Within moments, his wounds closed, the blood retreating into his body as if nothing had happened.

“Pathetic,” he sneered, brushing off his torn clothes. “If you want to kill me, you’ll need power ten times greater than that. But do you have what it takes? I doubt you can even stand after that desperate outburst.”

To William, Arion’s sudden surge of power was nothing more than a last-ditch effort before death—a futile counterattack destined to fail.

But Arion’s expression didn’t falter. Calm and composed, he replied, “Feel free to test that theory.”

William’s smirk deepened as he glanced at Bear King Bailey. The two exchanged a brief nod before charging toward Arion together, their combined aura surging like a tidal wave.

Behind them, Fist Saint Basong, Sword Saint Tristan Enns, and the ace assassins Brady, Santino, and Victor closed in, forming a deadly encirclement. They refused to believe that a single old man, no matter how powerful, could withstand their united strength.

Arion remained unflustered. “If you’re that eager, let’s see what you’ve got.”

With a flick of his wrist, a black-and-white sword appeared in his hand. The air around him seemed to ripple as he moved, his figure becoming a blur.

He launched himself directly at William and Bailey, wielding his sword with raw, brutal precision.

The weapon in Arion’s hand was no ordinary blade—it was the Celestial Slay sword, the top divine weapon of legend. Years ago, Arion had wielded it to achieve fame and cement his title as Dragonmarsh’s strongest warrior. Now, with the sword back in his grasp, his attacks carried an unparalleled ferocity.

Despite facing multiple top-tier opponents, Arion fought like a force of nature. His swordsmanship was masterful—every slash contained endless variations, appearing deceptively simple yet impossible to predict. Combined with his agile and fluid movements, he seemed untouchable.

William and the others unleashed relentless attacks, employing every technique at their disposal. Yet Arion countered each assault effortlessly, his blade leaving deep gashes on his opponents’ bodies with alarming precision.

What made the Celestial Slay Sword truly fearsome, however, was its unique property—wounds inflicted by it were almost impossible to heal. Both William and Bailey, who prided themselves on their impenetrable defenses and rapid regeneration, found themselves at a rare disadvantage.

The gashes on their bodies bled incessantly, their natural recovery slowed to a crawl. The longer they fought, the more their confidence wavered.

For the first time, William hesitated. His once-reliable physical advantage was now a liability. Bailey, too, was beginning to falter, his attacks growing more cautious as he avoided exposing vital areas.

“The sword… there’s something unnatural about it,” Bailey growled, his voice laced with urgency. “Stay alert!”

William clenched his fists, his frustration mounting. “This old man is infuriating! I can’t even land a hit!”

Each time William attacked with his full speed and strength, Arion would slip away using his bizarre footwork, retaliating with yet another devastating strike.

While the injuries weren’t immediately fatal, the accumulating damage was beginning to take its toll. If this continued, defeat seemed inevitable.

Bailey finally snapped. “Enough of this! Stop holding back!” he roared. “Use everything you’ve got, or we’re all dead!”

His body was riddled with over a dozen wounds, his stamina draining rapidly. For the first time, the mighty Bear King felt his strength waning.

In contrast, Arion appeared unfazed, his movements growing sharper and his attacks more ruthless. His aura only grew stronger, pressing down on them like an unrelenting storm.

Bailey wasn’t the only one who realized the dire situation. William, Tristan, and the others exchanged grim looks. They had been saving their most destructive techniques as a last resort, unwilling to risk them prematurely. But now, the reality was clear—without using their ultimate powers, not only would they fail to kill Arion, but they might not even escape the Sacred Wyrm Summit alive.

Arion, watching them with calm eyes, knew exactly what they were thinking.
