Chapter 2402
“Boom!”
With a deafening crash, the ground shook violently.
When the purple sword light collided with the nine-colored sword, a massive wave of energy erupted like a volcano, spreading destruction in all directions.
The shockwave rippled across the sky and ground, distorting the very air, and the once-sturdy arena floor shattered like fragile glass.
The large blue protective shield around the ring expanded to its limit, vibrating intensely.
Cracks spread across it, forming a giant web that covered the entire shield.
“Hold it steady!” shouted Orion Foster, as he and several other Sacred Wyrm Summit masters poured their energy into the shield.
But despite their efforts, the shield continued to strain under the immense power, and cracks only grew deeper.
Within moments, the shield burst apart with a sharp “bang.”
Orion Foster and the other masters were blown back over ten meters, each badly injured, with blood streaming from their mouths and noses.
Even then, the aftermath continued to surge outward.
It was like a tidal wave, sweeping across the audience in seconds.
The stronger fighters managed to withstand the force, but the weaker ones were knocked to the ground, some bleeding from their heads.
Chaos broke out instantly.
Screams, curses, and cries for help filled the air.
At the level of Dustin and Glenn’s battle, even the lingering energy was too intense for most people to endure.
The crowd hadn’t anticipated such a fierce collision between Dustin and Glenn.
Not only had it demolished the arena, but it shattered the protective formation meticulously prepared by Sacred Wyrm Summit.
Even the summit’s masters couldn’t hold it back.
This display of destructive power was like nothing they’d seen before.
“Quick, help the injured!”
Winning and losing no longer mattered.
Katy Foster, the Heavenly Master of Sacred Wyrm Summit, quickly organized rescue efforts, instructing people to assist the wounded.
The other major sects pitched in too.
In the face of such devastation, no one could simply stand by.
Thankfully, most spectators were warriors with some ability to protect themselves, so there were no fatalities.
For those who weren’t fighters, protection wasn’t an issue; they were either wealthy or influential and had guards by their side.
With Sacred Wyrm Summit and the other sects working together, the chaotic scene was soon brought under control.
The injured were escorted out, some needing to be carried.
But despite the confusion, most of the crowd stayed, eyes fixed on the center of the arena.
They were eager to know who had won.
By now, the ring was utterly destroyed.
The once-proud platform, a hundred meters across, was reduced to rubble.
Smoke and dust filled the air, obscuring the view.
Then, a breeze swept through, clearing the haze and revealing the scene.
Two figures stood atop separate piles of debris.
On the left, Glenn, clad in black, was breathing heavily, blood at the corner of his mouth. Before him were nine swords, each planted in the ground and dull, stripped of their former power.
On the right, Dustin stood in white, pale-faced and drenched in sweat. His hand, clutching the Dragon Sparrow Sword, trembled slightly.
Blood trickled from Dustin’s mouth, running down the blade of his sword before dripping onto the broken stones below.
The two fighters stared at each other across the distance, neither making a move.
“Who won? What’s going on?”
“They’re both standing… could it be a draw?”
The crowd exchanged puzzled glances.
With the ring destroyed and the protective shield shattered, it seemed impossible for Dustin and Glenn to continue.
Their immense power meant that even a single move could be deadly to the spectators if the fight resumed without a protective barrier.
“Master Foster, how should we handle this?” Alloy Marshall asked, still in shock.
Katy Foster’s face reflected his uncertainty.
He had taken every precaution, setting up a protective array and relying on Sacred Wyrm Summit’s masters to control the match. Yet Dustin and Glenn’s power had exceeded all expectations.
With the ring in ruins, the formation broken, and no clear victor, the situation was complicated.
“Master Foster, given the circumstances, maybe we should call it a draw,” Penelope suggested.
Katy Foster looked to Cyrus and Alloy for their opinions.
“I’m fine with that,” Alloy agreed, shrugging.
“Although it’s disappointing, a draw would be fair,” Cyrus said after a brief pause.
“Very well,” Katy Foster declared. He stood and addressed the crowd, his voice loud and clear. “The ring is destroyed, the protective formation has broken, and neither competitor has a clear advantage. After careful consideration, we have declared this match a draw!”
