An Understated Dominance Chapter 2369 – Dustin examined the box closely, and after confirming there were no special markings, he looked at Grace and asked, confused, “Did you guess, or can you actually see what’s inside?”
Grace rolled her eyes and said, “I guessed, of course. I don’t have x-ray vision.”
“Impressive! I’m amazed,” Dustin said, giving her a thumbs-up.
She had figured it all out just by guessing, and he felt a bit humbled by her intelligence.
“So, it really is a strengthening potion?” Grace raised an eyebrow. She had said it casually but hadn’t expected to guess correctly.
“Take a look yourself,” Dustin replied, opening the box to reveal two tubes of red and blue potions.
Grace was surprised. “Wow, these are S-level potions from the Pantheon of the Gods. They must really value you!”
The Pantheon’s strengthening potions were ranked from D to S-level, with S being the highest and most powerful. Only top-level personnel were allowed to use them. The fact that Dustin had received two S-level potions showed how much they valued him.
“Yes, it’s important, but it also brings trouble. It’s like they forced me to drink poison,” Dustin said, shrugging.
“Poison? What kind? Can it be cured?” Grace asked, worried.
“I’ve already processed it. My body is immune to most poisons,” Dustin smiled.
Apart from a few extreme poisons, Dustin’s body could neutralize most toxins.
“I’m glad you’re okay,” Grace said, relieved. “But remember, your safety comes first. Don’t put yourself in danger.”
Even though Dustin was strong, the Pantheon had many powerful people. If his identity was revealed, he could be in serious danger.
“Don’t worry, I have a plan. I won’t do anything reckless,” Dustin reassured her.
Grace nodded. “So, what will you do with these potions?”
“I’m giving them to you for research,” Dustin said seriously. “The Pantheon’s genetic research is far ahead of the rest of the world. If we can crack their secret, it will help Dragonmarsh catch up.”
Dragonmarsh was behind in genetic research, and Dustin saw this as an opportunity to close the gap.
Grace looked at him, surprised. “These potions are incredibly valuable. Are you sure? If you use them, you’d be unbeatable in the martial arts competition.”
Dustin was already tied with Glenn at the top of the Legendary list. Drinking the potions would give him a clear advantage.
“Using these potions might increase my strength, but it wouldn’t help me much,” Dustin said. “And I don’t want to become dependent on them. Relying on potions would weaken my fighting spirit.”
A warrior’s strength comes from hard work and self-discipline, not shortcuts like potions. The sudden boost in strength from potions might seem appealing, but it could lead to dependency, and controlling that power wasn’t always easy, especially against real masters.
Dustin didn’t believe in taking shortcuts. A true warrior grows stronger through effort, not potions.
Grace respected his decision. “Since you’ve already made up your mind, I won’t argue. On behalf of Dragonmarsh, thank you. If we make breakthroughs in genetics, you’ll be the hero.”
The potions and other resources Dustin had brought back were vital to Dragonmarsh’s research, potentially saving decades of effort.
Dustin smiled. “Don’t be so formal. Think of it as a small gift. Just remember me if you find any breakthroughs.”
Though Dustin didn’t see himself as a self-sacrificing hero, he was willing to help Dragonmarsh where he could. After all, it was his home, and he couldn’t stand by and watch it be threatened by outside forces without doing anything.
If he did, he wouldn’t be able to respect himself.
