An Understated Dominance Chapter 2001 –“Kakaka…”
At this time, the rotating symbols on the bronze door suddenly stopped.
It seemed to be stuck, swinging back and forth and making a creaking sound.
“Huh? What’s going on? Why didn’t it respond?”
Everyone looked at each other, a little confused.
“Mr. Wilder, what’s going on?” Grace’s eyelids twitched, feeling a little uneasy.
“Ms. Linsor, please be patient. After all, it has been more than a thousand years. It is normal for the agency to be a little older. Just wait for a while, and it will be fine soon.” Garrett smiled faintly.
It’s not like he had never experienced similar situations.
Some traps were in disrepair and had no reaction, even if they were triggered.
However, judging from the material of the bronze door, the mechanism inside should not be damaged. At most, it was just not that flexible.
Besides, everyone just smashed and used explosives, so it must have had an impact.
“Kakaka…”
After waiting for a few breaths, the symbol text that originally rotated clockwise suddenly began to rotate counterclockwise.
“It’s moving; it’s moving again!” The short-haired woman looked happy.
She thought something had happened just now, but luckily it was just a false alarm.
“Ms. Linsor, am I right? You’ll be fine soon.”
Garrett smiled and spoke, but the words were half-sent.
Some symbols on the bronze door suddenly sank, revealing rows of dark holes the size of thumbs.
At the same time, a large number of gold-steel arrows suddenly shot out of these holes.
“Boom, boom, boom, boom, boom…”
These arrows were numerous and extremely fast, making them difficult to guard against.
Garrett stood in front of the door, being the closest and bearing the brunt of the attack, becoming the biggest target.
“Captain, be careful!”
The short-haired woman reacted quickly, slammed Garrett away, and blocked several arrows for him.
Gold steel arrows shot through his shoulders and arms at the price.
If she hadn’t protected him with her life, Garrett, who had just gotten carried away, would have been shot dead on the spot.
Looking at the injured, short-haired woman lying on the ground, Garrett’s expression changed, and he quickly ran forward to check on her condition.
“Captain, I’m fine; it’s just a little skin injury.” The short-haired woman forced a smile.
“Take the hemostatic pill quickly!”
Garrett took out a red pill from his body and handed it to the short-haired woman while quickly bandaging it.
Fortunately, no vital parts were injured. After taking blood-tonifying pills, he was fine after a few days of recovery, but his movement was affected.
“Captain, how could this happen? It was fine just now; why was the mechanism suddenly triggered?” The short-haired woman was a little confused.
“There may be something wrong with some of the structures inside, causing the mechanism to be accidentally triggered.” Garrett explained with a frown.
The front rotated clockwise, and the back suddenly turned counterclockwise, which was obviously not right.
“Mr. Wilder, the runes on this door have stopped moving. Can it still be opened?” Grace asked.
The sudden change made her heart skip a beat.
“This…” Garrett was speechless for a moment when asked.
He was full of confidence before and said he would be able to do it, but now something unexpected happened, and he was a little embarrassed.
“Ms. Linsor, it was just an accident. I believe the captain can open this bronze door.” The short-haired woman spoke out in support.
“Ms. Linsor, I’ll try again; it should be fine.” Garrett took a deep breath, stepped forward, and began to carefully study the bronze door.
After confirming that there was no danger, he learned the same technique as before: pressing the ruby eye three times on the left and three on the right, trying to open the bronze door.
However, this time, it had no effect.
The bronze door stood silently, showing no response.
Garrett tried several times, knocking and beating, but to no avail.
He could only turn his head helplessly and say sarcastically, “Ms. Linsor, the mechanism inside this bronze door seems to be broken.”
“Broken?” Grace frowned. “You mean, this door can’t open?”
“Yes.” Garrett nodded. “This door has existed for too long, and the mechanism is no longer sensitive. In addition, the explosive bombardment just now may have damaged something inside, so now there’s nothing we can do.”
“Is there no other way?” Grace frowned even more.
“Even I can’t open it. There should be no one in this world who can open it.” Garrett sighed.
“Let me give it a try.” Dustin couldn’t help it and took the initiative to step forward.
“You?” Garrett glanced up and down and snorted: “Dustin, I know you are very powerful, but in terms of mechanisms, you are far inferior to me. You can’t even open it, so don’t waste your efforts.”
“How will you know if it doesn’t work if you don’t try it?” Dustin said calmly.
“Hmph! You’re really humiliating yourself. Someone as knowledgeable as the captain is helpless. Why do you think you can do it?” The short-haired woman curled her lips.
Garrett had just made it very clear that the mechanism inside had been damaged and that no one in the world could open this door.
Dustin had come forward; Garrett was just asking for trouble.
“Dustin, you have to be self-aware as a person. If you don’t have that ability, don’t be in the limelight.” Garrett said it angrily.
Dustin was too lazy to respond to this, so he walked straight to the bronze door and began to look up and down.
“Stop looking; it’s useless. You don’t even know the words on it; how can you open this door? If you really have this ability, I will just pretend to be dead here.” Garrett said harsh words directly.
“Really?” Dustin smiled evilly, then clenched his fist and hit the bronze door hard.
“Bang!” There was a loud noise.
The earth shook, the mountains shook, and smoke and dust rose everywhere.
The powerful air wave caused everyone to retreat and almost fall to the ground.
When the dust settled, Dustin’s punch had shattered the previously immovable and unbreakable bronze door.
For a moment, the entire audience was stunned.
