Married At First Sight Chapter 4111

Chapter 4111

Zachary smiled. “That’s true. There’s nothing we can do about it. He was born to be the heir of the York family.”

Serenity said, “Maybe our child will just be average.”

Zachary kissed her again and replied with confidence, “No way. My child—no matter what—won’t be bad. They say a great father can have an unremarkable son, but I’m exceptional. My child won’t be bad.”

Serenity playfully pinched his cheek. “You’re so confident. It’s too early to say. The baby isn’t even born yet.”

“Honey, go to sleep,” she yawned.

Zachary nodded. “You sleep first. I want to watch you.”

Serenity closed her eyes, quickly drifting off.

Meanwhile, Liberty was still on the phone with Duncan. After talking for over half an hour, she felt the weight of her anxiety lift. Duncan’s support and encouragement gave her reassurance.

She had no experience leading a powerful family or managing a large corporation—but she could learn. And she had plenty of people willing to help her.

Everyone starts with nothing and builds from there.

Life is a journey taken one step at a time.

“Duncan, I’m sorry for bothering you. I feel much better now. I think I’ll take a nap,” Liberty said apologetically. “I’ll thank you properly when I get back.”

Duncan’s voice softened. “We’re husband and wife. There’s no need to be so formal. I’m happy when you talk to me and trust me. No need to thank me. But if you really want to… well, you know.”

Liberty smiled. “I’m just looking out for your health.”

Duncan, once a lifelong bachelor, was now a married man—and having a wife beside him made him a little greedy for affection.

His legs hadn’t fully healed yet, and Liberty worried about his health. So when he got too eager, she had to put on the brakes.

Every time she saw his disappointed expression, she didn’t know whether to laugh or feel guilty.

“I’m perfectly healthy. Sure, I’m a few years older than you, but I used to work out all the time. The doctor even said I’m in good shape,” Duncan reassured her.

If he hadn’t been in such great shape before the accident, his recovery wouldn’t have been this fast.

From Duncan’s perspective, he hadn’t fully recovered since he still needed a wheelchair at times. But from the doctor’s point of view, he was doing exceptionally well—most people in his condition wouldn’t have come this far in less than a year.

Liberty smiled. “Alright, alright. You’re in good health. When you’ve fully recovered, you can do whatever you want.”

Duncan chuckled. “You said it.”

Liberty smirked. “I did, and I’ll stick to it. Now, go to sleep. I love you.”

Duncan’s heart soared. “Wife, how am I supposed to sleep now? You never say ‘I love you’ often. How can I sleep after hearing that?”

Liberty wasn’t usually the type to say sweet things.

Duncan had always felt that his love for her ran deeper than hers for him.

She married him, but they still hadn’t had a wedding. Everyone in Wiltspoon knew they were legally husband and wife—Duncan made sure of that—but sometimes, he still felt uneasy.

Maybe it was because they hadn’t held a wedding yet.

That’s why he pushed himself so hard in rehab, determined to recover as soon as possible.

Then, they could finally have their wedding.

Liberty sighed. “…If you keep reacting like this, I won’t say those three words next time.”

Married At First Sight Chapter 4112

Chapter 4112

Duncan quickly said, “I’m happy, really happy. It won’t affect my sleep. But, my wife, the reason I’m so overjoyed is because you don’t say ‘I love you’ often. It makes me feel insecure—like you don’t love me enough. I keep worrying that you accepted my feelings out of guilt.”

Liberty smiled. “Duncan, I’m not a child. I’m in my thirties and have been through a divorce. I take remarriage very seriously. There’s no way I’d make that kind of decision lightly. If I didn’t have feelings for you, I wouldn’t have married you.

And it’s not guilt. Your accident wasn’t my fault, so why would I marry you out of guilt?”

Liberty was always rational.

As a divorced woman who had once loved deeply, she knew remarriage required careful thought.

It wasn’t just about emotions—it was about whether the person she was marrying, along with his family, could fully accept both her and her son. Only when Duncan had proven that would she agree to be with him.

Duncan loved her.

Over time, she fell in love with Duncan too.

He treated Sonny as his own child.

After Duncan’s accident, even the Lewis family softened.

They no longer opposed the relationship. As long as Duncan was happy and willing to get married, they wouldn’t interfere. He was nearly 40—he knew what he wanted.

“I don’t say ‘I love you’ every day because I’m busy with work,” Liberty explained. “Besides, we’re both adults. Our love runs deep. We don’t need to say it all the time. You know I love you, and I know you love me.”

Duncan said, “Wife, let’s always be open with each other. No doubts. Now that I know how you feel, I won’t overthink anymore. I won’t worry that you don’t truly love me or that you’ll leave me.”

“Silly,” Liberty teased.

“In front of you, I am a fool—always afraid of losing you.”

Liberty said, “Before we got married, I asked if you’d ever regret it. You said no, so we got our marriage certificate. I meant what I said—if you don’t leave, I’ll never abandon you.”

She had always been serious about love.

Even with Hank.

Back then, she truly loved him. Their love had lasted for years—from their school days to marriage. If she hadn’t loved him deeply, she wouldn’t have quit her job, become a housewife, and had a child for him.

But her devotion was repaid with betrayal and disdain.

After that, she had wanted to shut her heart away forever. She had planned to focus on raising her son and never touch love again.

But Duncan’s persistence, his unwavering dedication, and the depth of his love slowly broke down her walls.

He gave her the courage to believe in love again.

She hoped this time, she had made the right choice—that she and Duncan would grow old together.

Duncan said, “Liberty, I love you. I love you so much.”

Liberty smiled. “Me too. Now, go to sleep. If you don’t, the sun will be up soon.”

Duncan chuckled. “Okay.”

Finally, they ended the call.

After hanging up, Duncan thought for a moment, then sent a message to his secretary.

He told him to cancel all his meetings for the next week.

At dawn, he would have his assistant book a flight to Jensburg.

His wife needed support right now.

Even if she didn’t ask for his help, just knowing he was by her side would make her feel more at ease.

Married At First Sight Chapter 4113

Chapter 4113

The next day.

Liberty slept until noon.

She had barely fallen asleep around four in the morning, so she didn’t wake up until midday.

Reaching for her phone on the bedside table, she checked the time—it was almost noon.

She quickly sat up, changed her clothes, freshened up, and headed downstairs.

The house was quiet.

Only the sound of her footsteps echoed through the space.

“Kathryn? Kathryn?”

She called out twice, but there was no response.

Liberty guessed Kathryn had either gone out or was in the yard.

The lingering aroma of food told her that lunch had already been prepared.

She made her way to the front door.

Just as she stepped outside, she saw Kathryn and Pedro returning with a few guests.

Her sharp eyes immediately spotted Duncan.

He was seated in a wheelchair, pushed by his personal bodyguard. Another bodyguard followed behind, pulling a suitcase.

Kathryn and Pedro weren’t empty-handed either—they carried large and small gift boxes.

Duncan had brought them—specialties from Wiltspoon.

When Kathryn saw Duncan arriving with so many gifts, she had said, “Liberty is the owner of the Farrell family mansion now, and you’re her husband. This is your home too. You don’t have to bring so much.”

“These are to honor my aunt,” Duncan replied.

Kathryn smiled at that and accepted the gifts.

Although she was a few years younger than Liberty, their family hierarchy meant Liberty had to address her as “Aunt.” Since Duncan was Liberty’s husband, he naturally followed suit.

“Liberty, you’re up!”

Kathryn spotted Liberty standing at the doorway and smiled. “Look who’s here. Mr. Lewis heard you weren’t sleeping well and was worried about you. So, he got up early, caught a flight, and just arrived.”

Liberty stepped forward, moving toward the group.

“Duncan… why didn’t you tell me you were coming?”

Seeing her husband, Liberty couldn’t hide her joy—the smile on her face said it all.

The bodyguard stepped aside, allowing Liberty to take over pushing Duncan’s wheelchair.

“I wanted to surprise you,” Duncan said with a grin. Then, lowering his voice, he added, “I didn’t dare make a big deal out of it—I was afraid Sonny would cry and insist on coming with me. He has kindergarten tomorrow.”

Of course, there was another reason—he wanted time alone with Liberty.

Sonny was a sweet, sensible child, but he was still a child. And as newlyweds, Duncan and Liberty didn’t need a “third wheel” tagging along.

“If Sonny finds out you came alone, he’ll be upset,” Liberty said knowingly.

Duncan chuckled. “I’ll make it up to him with extra toys. He’s easy to coax.”

“I’ll just tell him it was a business trip,” Duncan continued. “Obviously, I couldn’t bring him along for that. Plus, he has school—bad timing.”

Liberty smiled, seeing through his excuse.

She knew the truth—Duncan had come for her.

He understood her worries, her anxieties. He wanted to be here, by her side, as her support.

Yes, his mobility was still limited, but his mind was sharp.

When it came to business, he was more experienced than she was. With him around, she’d have guidance, a second perspective—she wouldn’t have to navigate everything alone.

“But your company is busy,” Liberty pointed out. “What about your work while you’re here?”

Married At First Sight Chapter 4114

Chapter 4114

“I have so many managers—if they can’t handle the company’s affairs, then why am I even paying them? And if things really get out of hand, I have my three brothers. They’ll step in when needed. Plus, Josh and Zachary will help too. Don’t worry—Lewis & Co. won’t go bankrupt just because I’m away for a while.”

Right now, nothing mattered more to Duncan than his wife.

With his brothers helping out and a well-trained management team running the company, there was no reason for him to stress over work.

And if anyone dared remind him of his disability?

Well, when his brothers grumbled about handling extra responsibilities, he simply pointed out that he was now a “useless man” who could barely walk. That usually shut them up, leaving them no choice but to handle business without further complaints.

The group stepped inside the house.

“Let’s eat first,” Kathryn suggested.

The warmth of the heating system wrapped around them, and Duncan suddenly felt hot.

Liberty noticed right away and helped him take off his coat.

“I’ll take you to wash your hands before we eat,” she offered, ready to assist him.

Duncan shook his head. “No need. I can still walk a short distance.”

He motioned for her to let him go, and Liberty stepped back, allowing him to walk to the sink on his own.

Meanwhile, Kathryn and Pedro brought out the prepared dishes, setting them on the small dining table.

The Farrell family mansion had several dining rooms. When the whole family gathered, they used the larger dining room, where a long table could accommodate twenty people at once. If there was an even bigger event, they moved to the grandest dining hall.

But tonight, it was just the four of them, so they dined in the smallest room.

“Liberty, Duncan, these dishes were all made by Mr. Fraser himself. You’ll have to taste his cooking,” Kathryn said with a smile.

Pedro, standing beside her, simply chuckled.

“Since Mr. Fraser cooked, I’d better savor every bite. Let me grab a good bottle of wine—we’ll have a couple of drinks,” Liberty said, turning to fetch it.

There was no need to return to work today, and Kathryn and Pedro weren’t planning to go out either.

A little wine wouldn’t hurt.

Pedro smiled modestly. “I only know how to make a few simple home-cooked meals.”

Kathryn scoffed. “A little humility is nice, but don’t downplay your skills. With your cooking, you could serve a full banquet.”

Pedro was an all-around assistant—cooking was just one of his many talents. And not just ordinary cooking. Compared to him, even a five-star chef might fall short.

Pedro’s gaze softened as he looked at Kathryn. “I worked hard to improve my cooking so you could enjoy your meals. Whatever you like, I’ll make it for you.”

“Ahem—”

Liberty and Duncan cleared their throats at the same time.

A not-so-subtle reminder that they were still there.

Kathryn’s face flushed pink.

It wasn’t like she and Pedro had done anything inappropriate—he had only said a few sweet words to her.

“We’ve endured plenty of your ‘couple moments’—now it’s your turn to deal with ours,” Kathryn teased, turning toward Liberty with a playful glint in her eyes.

Liberty chuckled. “You know what? I can’t even argue with that. Husband, come sit down. I’ll serve you some soup—tell me what you’d like, and I’ll get it for you.”

Understanding the game, Liberty played along, making sure Kathryn got a taste of her own medicine.

Married At First Sight Chapter 4115

Chapter 4115

Duncan said, “I’m not picky. I’ll eat whatever you choose. Let’s start with some soup.”

He was easygoing.

This was how they usually interacted—Duncan took care of Liberty, and Liberty took care of him.

Liberty served him a bowl of soup and picked a dish for him with her chopsticks.

Duncan immediately returned the gesture, placing her favorite dish in her bowl.

Kathryn and Pedro sat across from them.

“How long are you staying this time, Mr. Lewis?” Kathryn asked.

To her, Duncan moving into the Farrell family mansion was like coming home. But she knew his real home was in Wiltspoon—his business, his family, and his friends were all there.

“I’ll go back once Liberty’s job is stable,” Duncan replied.

He planned to stay until she had secured her position in the Farrell family.

Kathryn smiled at Liberty. “You made the right choice this time. No matter what challenges lie ahead, he’ll be right by your side.”

Liberty picked up another piece of food for Duncan and said, “That’s right. I made a mistake once—I had to be more careful the second time. Choosing the right person is everything.”

She and Duncan exchanged a loving look. “We promised each other—we’ll never leave. We’ll grow old together.”

Kathryn chuckled. “You should have a daughter soon. Has anyone been urging you to have a second child? If not, let me be the bad guy this time.”

She continued, “A daughter would not only carry on President Lewis’s legacy but also ensure the Farrell family has a successor. One child is enough—no need for a ‘spare’ to repeat the mistakes of the past.”

Kathryn wanted Liberty to understand—having more than one daughter could create resentment. If one became the heir while the other got nothing, jealousy could take root, leading to ambition and conflict.

She had seen it happen before—family bonds broken, relatives turning against each other, all for power.

Liberty nodded. “I’m not young anymore. If I have another baby, I’d be an older mother. I don’t plan to go through that again.”

“But the Farrell family’s successor has to be a daughter. There’s no guarantee your second child would be a girl. We could use advanced medical technology to ensure it,” Kathryn suggested.

Duncan spoke up. “That would put Liberty through a lot, and I don’t want her to suffer. We’ll let nature take its course. In a year or two, when things are more settled, we’ll try for another child. Whether it’s a son or a daughter, that’s up to fate.”

IVF was tough on women, and Duncan wasn’t willing to put Liberty through that.

“Next year would be a good time to start,” Kathryn advised. “The older she gets, the harder pregnancy will be. It’s much easier when you’re younger.”

She spoke like an elder, encouraging them to plan ahead.

“With Liberty’s ability, she’ll stabilize the Farrell family within a year,” Kathryn added. “Right now, they’re not as united as they once were. Without unity, they won’t accomplish much.”

Married At First Sight Chapter 4116

Chapter 4116

Most young people in the Farrell family don’t make it into the headquarters of Farrell Group. Instead, they work at its subsidiaries, just like regular employees.

They put in long hours for a modest salary of four or five thousand dollars a month.

Being part of the Farrell family doesn’t guarantee a high-paying job. Those who lack skills or work ethic can’t even get into the subsidiaries.

Clarissa made it clear when she was alive—the Farrell Group wouldn’t carry dead weight. Anyone hoping to coast through and collect a white-collar paycheck was just dreaming.

For most family members, the biggest perk was the festival bonuses—a gift package and a red envelope from the company.

These were distributed equally, regardless of age or seniority. Newborns and elders alike received the same amount.

After a moment of thought, Liberty said, “If I don’t have a daughter, there’s still Seren and Elisa. They could have daughters.”

Grandma York’s trusted master had predicted that Serenity and Zachary would have both sons and daughters. A daughter was inevitable.

And once Elisa married, she might have a daughter, too.

Either way, the Farrell family wouldn’t be left without an heir.

“Let’s eat. No more heavy topics at the table,” Pedro said with a smile, shifting the conversation.

Everyone nodded, focusing on the meal instead.

After dinner, the two couples strolled through the yard.

The Farrell family mansion wasn’t as crowded with servants as it once was. Kathryn didn’t like having too many people around, and Liberty felt the same.

Audrey had handpicked the current staff—efficient, trustworthy, and to Kathryn’s satisfaction.

When Clarissa was alive, she had replaced every servant, including the butler, making sure none of the old staff remained.

Kathryn had been wary of the servants being bribed by her three brothers, so she dismissed them all and let Audrey bring in new people.

As they walked, Kathryn turned to Pedro. “You leave for your business trip tomorrow. While you’re away, I’ll spread some rumors and make sure my brothers hear them.”

Pedro hesitated. “That soon?”

He hated leaving her.

“The sooner we get rid of them, the sooner I can enjoy some peace,” Kathryn said. “Once they’re in jail, I need you to transfer some money to my dad—enough for his monthly expenses. Make sure he knows it’s meant to last him the rest of his life.”

She continued, “He shouldn’t blow through it just because he got a lump sum. According to my mother’s will, my brothers were supposed to take care of him in his old age. If I’m in a good mood, I might send him extra. If not, I won’t.

“At the end of the day, he’s still my father. He never loved me, but I carry his blood. I won’t be cruel—I’ll make sure he has the basics and doesn’t starve.”

Holden had settled back in his hometown and was living well—Kathryn knew that much.

He didn’t have much money himself, but his three sons were considered wealthy there.

Each of them sent him tens or even hundreds of thousands a month, funding his comfortable lifestyle, complete with multiple caretakers.

Married At First Sight Chapter 4117

Chapter 4117

Pedro stopped.

Kathryn stopped too.

“What’s wrong?” she asked.

Pedro hesitated before looking at her. “You don’t want to follow my plan?”

“Miss, I’ll do whatever you ask of me,” he assured her. “But… can you wait two more days? I’m worried…”

Kathryn’s expression turned serious. “Pedro, trust me. Trust yourself. I can protect myself, and you can protect me. I might get hurt, but my life won’t be in danger.”

Ahead of them, Liberty and Duncan walked on, unaware that Pedro and Kathryn had stopped.

The distance between them grew.

Before Pedro could react, Kathryn suddenly grabbed his face, stood on tiptoe, and pressed a soft kiss to his warm lips.

Pedro immediately wrapped his arms around her, turning passive into active, deepening the kiss.

She was a woman in love. He was a man devoted to her.

But Pedro never initiated anything intimate. It was always Kathryn who took the lead.

To Pedro, Kathryn wasn’t just the woman he loved—she was his master. He held a deep respect for her, and taking the initiative felt like overstepping his bounds.

But when Kathryn made the first move, he never held back.

After the passionate kiss, Kathryn’s breath was slightly uneven.

Pedro held her close, letting her rest against his chest as she caught her breath.

“Pedro, I want to marry you soon,” Kathryn murmured. “Once this trouble is resolved, you won’t have to worry anymore. Just focus on transitioning things to Liberty. When everything is stable, we can leave and get our marriage certificate. I won’t feel at peace until all of this is behind us. Even if we got married now, my heart wouldn’t be settled.”

Pedro gently touched her face, his eyes filled with tenderness stronger than the finest wine. He promised in a low, affectionate voice, “Okay. I’ll do whatever you say. I promise your life will never be in danger.”

If Kathryn’s life was at risk, Pedro wouldn’t live either.

He was hers in life and hers in death.

They were bound together—forever.

Up ahead, Liberty turned her head to glance back.

Kathryn quickly pulled Pedro forward and said, “It’s settled. This afternoon, I’ll go with Liberty and Duncan to visit the Queen family. You don’t have to come. The bodyguards will accompany me.”

Pedro knew he couldn’t change her mind. “Alright.”

That afternoon, Kathryn took several bodyguards and accompanied Liberty and Duncan to the Queen family’s home.

The Queen and York families were already in-laws. The Hunt and York families were connected too, and Liberty had close ties with the Queen family.

Pedro wasn’t with Kathryn.

The next day—Monday—people returned to work and school.

At Farrell Group, Pedro was nowhere to be seen.

Days passed, and still, he didn’t appear.

Kathryn told everyone he was on a business trip. She had sent him to another province for an important task, and he wouldn’t be back for at least ten days to two weeks.

This news quickly reached Marco and his brothers.

They had been on sick leave, but after hearing that Pedro was gone, they suddenly “recovered” and returned to work.

Marco hadn’t changed. He was still as arrogant and domineering as ever.

While others completed the tasks assigned by Liberty on time, Marco and his brothers constantly dragged their feet. Even after multiple reminders, they barely got their work done—and when they did, the results were a mess.

In the president’s office, Liberty sat behind her half-moon-shaped desk.

Marco and his brothers stood in front of her.

She tossed their reports onto the desk with a frustrated sigh. “Look at these plans and reports. They’re a disaster. What a mess.”

Her gaze hardened. “You’re vice presidents. You earn high salaries. And this is the quality of work you turn in? Do your results justify your pay?”

Married At First Sight Chapter 4118

Chapter 4118

Liberty slammed their reports onto the table, her expression filled with anger. The moment she saw them, she didn’t hold back.

Marco casually pulled out a chair and sat down.

“Liberty—”

“Who told you to sit?” Liberty cut him off sharply. “In this company, address me properly. It’s President Farrell. I’ve changed my last name to Farrell. From now on, I am Liberty Farrell.”

Her voice was firm, commanding. Marco hesitated, then reluctantly stood up.

Liberty’s gaze swept over the three brothers. “With your attitude, no company would tolerate you. Vice Presidents Janzen, I’m warning you—if you don’t shape up, don’t blame me for what happens next. I don’t care whose sons you are. Farrell Group doesn’t keep slackers. And we certainly don’t keep people who coast along, doing the bare minimum!”

Marco scoffed. “President Farrell, this work used to be done by others. We’ve never handled these tasks ourselves. If we actually had to do it, our mother would have taught us how. But you fired our secretaries and expect us to handle it alone. How are we supposed to? We’re leaders—big or small, leaders delegate. That’s the job. Management is about overseeing, not doing everything ourselves.”

The moment Liberty took over Farrell Group, she got rid of the three brothers’ secretaries.

Before that, most of their work had been done by subordinates. Now, Liberty was making them handle things personally.

To be honest, even if they wanted to do the work, they wouldn’t do it well.

They were used to giving orders, not following them. After all, they were vice presidents—the sons of the company’s former president.

Back when Shiloh was alive, she was the chosen successor. The three of them had been her brothers, walking around the company like they owned the place. No one dared challenge them.

They had power. Influence.

People flattered them.

Even clients treated them with respect, eager to work with Farrell Group.

But now?

They were nobodies.

Their so-called supporters had either been fired or reassigned to subsidiaries. One by one, those who once surrounded them disappeared.

It all started when Kathryn rose to power.

At first, they dismissed her.

To them, she was nothing more than a nobody—weak, incompetent, not worth their time.

Even when she achieved success, they convinced themselves it was because of Pedro.

But then, their mother started relying on Kathryn more and more. The company’s senior executives began treating her with respect.

That’s when it hit them.

Kathryn had played them all. She had pretended to be weak, only to outmaneuver them completely.

By the time they realized what was happening, it was too late.

Their mother had already chosen her as the real successor.

And as for them? They were nothing more than dead weight.

After their mother left, things only got worse.

They had given up.

Every day, they showed up at the company just to leave again.

Or they stayed in their offices, playing games, knowing their paychecks would still arrive.

Kathryn had caught them slacking off multiple times. She had scolded them, warned them—but they never took it seriously.

And now, Liberty was coming after them too.

Married At First Sight Chapter 4119

Chapter 4119

Liberty’s tone was firm. “I’m the head of this family now, not your mother. If you can’t handle the responsibilities of a vice president, then step down. I won’t tolerate anyone sitting around collecting a paycheck for nothing.”

She wasn’t about to let them get away with their laziness.

The three brothers had already suffered significant losses in their business ventures.

The only assets they had that remained stable were the rental properties and commercial spaces they had purchased.

That was why Holden had urged his sons to return home, buy more properties, and live off rental income—it was a far more secure path than their reckless business investments.

If a property wasn’t renting well, they could always sell it and recover some money.

But their business ventures? Those were a different story.

More often than not, they ended up in debt.

When Clarissa was alive, she had bailed them out countless times, dipping into her private funds to cover their losses.

Of course, there were times when they turned a profit.

But that was only because they took contracts from Farrell Group, relying on the company to absorb the risks.

Their success came at the company’s expense.

The profits Marco and his brothers had made over the years were built on the backs of Farrell Group’s losses.

Marco’s face darkened. He wanted to argue but held back, his jaw tightening as he glared at Liberty.

She met his gaze head-on, unflinching.

“Big brother.”

Sage and Noel quickly pulled Marco back.

Noel, always the more tactful of the three, forced a smile as he picked up the documents Liberty had thrown on the table. “President Farrell, we’ll redo them right away—properly this time. We’ll make sure they meet your expectations.”

Marco exhaled sharply, trying to contain his frustration. Without a word, he snatched the documents from Noel’s hand and stormed out.

“President Farrell, we’ll get back to work,” Sage and Noel said before hurrying after Marco.

The moment they stepped out of the president’s office, Sage turned back and spat in the direction of the office.

Noel shot him a warning look. “Sage, the secretary is still here.”

The president’s secretary had changed. The one who had served under Clarissa was gone.

Back when Kathryn was temporarily in charge of Farrell Group, the former secretary had resigned, knowing full well that a shift in power meant a shift in staff. She had been with Farrell Group for years and understood the politics of the business world. Resigning on her own terms gave her a dignified exit—better than waiting for Liberty to come in and dismiss her.

The new secretary had previously worked for Kathryn.

Kathryn had recognized her competence and recommended her to Liberty, who decided to keep her.

As an outsider taking over Farrell Group, Liberty had little foundation within the company. She needed someone familiar with its operations, and this secretary proved to be an asset.

At the elevator, the three brothers ran into Kathryn.

She was alone, dressed in a professional suit that made her appear delicate and unassuming.

In terms of presence, she didn’t exude the same sharp, commanding aura that Liberty did.

Kathryn and Camryn were alike in that way—on the surface, they seemed fragile, even weak.

But beneath that exterior was a sharp mind and an unshakable resolve.

Kathryn held a document in her hand, on her way to discuss business with Liberty.

After the New Year, she had stepped aside for Liberty to take over, returning to her former role as vice president.

Ever since learning the truth about her mother’s illegitimate rise to power, Kathryn no longer considered herself the rightful owner of Farrell Group.

The four siblings locked eyes.

Then, without a word, Kathryn stepped out of the elevator and walked past them.

Married At First Sight Chapter 4120

Chapter 4120

Marco stepped in front of Kathryn, blocking her path.

She didn’t want to argue with him, so she simply walked around the three brothers and continued toward the president’s office.

They watched her go, their expressions dark and unreadable.

“Brother, let’s go,” Noel said, stepping into the elevator first.

Marco tore his gaze away and followed, pulling Sage in with him.

“I heard Pedro was sent on a business trip,” Noel whispered. “Kathryn arranged for him to work in another province. He won’t be back for at least ten days, maybe half a month.”

“I’ve been paying attention too. Lately, Kathryn’s only been seen with her bodyguards. I really haven’t spotted Pedro around,” Sage added.

“I asked around,” Noel continued. “Pedro flew out of Jensburg a few days ago.”

Marco’s voice dropped to a near whisper. “This is the office. Not here. We’ll talk at home tonight.”

The two younger brothers immediately fell silent.

A moment later, the elevator doors opened onto their floor.

The three of them stormed out, their faces set in scowls.

Cursing under their breath, they stomped toward their offices, making sure everyone heard them bad-mouthing Liberty.

They didn’t care who was listening. In fact, that was the point. If they kept quiet, people might think they were plotting something. This way, they made it clear they still despised the new president.

The employees on that floor had long grown accustomed to the vice presidents openly criticizing Liberty.

Some workers, eager to get on Liberty’s good side, secretly reported everything to her, hoping to gain favor.

Others stayed out of it entirely, focusing on their own work.

And then there were those who turned to Kathryn, urging her not to give up her influence in the company.

They worried that if Kathryn fully stepped back, Liberty would remove the three Janzen brothers entirely.

After all, the entire company knew about the deep hatred between Liberty and the former president.

Would Liberty really allow the sons of her enemy to stay in power?

Not a chance.

It was only a matter of time.

But firing them outright would require severance pay.

The new president clearly wasn’t willing to waste company money compensating them.

Instead, she was making their lives miserable—pushing them toward quitting on their own.

Inside the President’s Office

Liberty’s ears burned red.

Kathryn noticed immediately. “Why are your ears suddenly red?” she asked. “My adoptive mother used to say that if your ears turn red for no reason, it means someone is bad-mouthing you. Or cursing you out.”

She smirked. “I just ran into my three brothers. I’d bet anything they’re cursing you—probably with some real venom.”

Liberty touched her warm ears, unconcerned. “If they’re not insulting me, they’re not breathing. They keep threatening to quit, but ever since we took over, they’ve been on sick leave, barely showing up.

“But now? They’re coming in every single day. On time. No leaving early. Sure, they’re still slacking off, but at least they’ve mastered the art of punctuality. Gotta give them credit for that.”

Her tone was laced with sarcasm.

Kathryn chuckled. “They know Pedro’s away and want to confirm it for themselves. How else could they plan their next move? Honestly, I wish they’d just get on with it. Stop stalling and take action already. They’re so hesitant, it’s pathetic.”

Liberty laughed. “Most people try to avoid getting stabbed in the back, but you? You’re practically inviting it. Is Pedro back?”

Kathryn nodded. “Yeah, he’s back. And he’s staying hidden. With my brothers’ limited connections and lack of real skill, there’s no way they’ll figure it out.”
